Welcome to Blanton's Blog, and Breastfeeding

For whatever reason, some of the folks at Realtree decided it was time for David Blanton (that would be me) to “do a blog.” My first reaction was, “Is that legal?” and if not, “What kind of jail time does it usually bring?”
After a short dialogue with the marketing crew, I don’t know who was more confused. But anyway, the “smart people” here at realtree.com have gotten me all lined out and I’m ready to roll . . . they think.
My goal here at Blanton’s Blog is to entertain you, inform you, provoke you and, in some cases, irritate you enough to keep you coming back.
I love the freedom which I’ve been given and I will reveal things that you wouldn’t know otherwise about myself, Realtree, the hunting industry, my family, friends, heck, I’ll even let you in on “classified” information about Michael Waddell and Bill Jordan, as long as you don’t tell.
For instance, I just got off the phone with Waddell. His number one love in the woods is turkey hunting. Well, that world has been turned sideways. You see, on March 7, Addie and McCoy Waddell were born. Wonderful! Great! Problem is, Michael starts roosting on the bedpost around March 1 and doesn’t come down until, oh, around May 15. And twins and turkeys don’t fit. (If you don’t believe me ask Ashley, Michael’s wife.)
Well, Michael and I just had to face the first dilemma. Ashley has been breastfeeding the babies and went out and purchased a “top of the line” $200 breast pump. Now, she’s decided to quit breastfeeding. (Please note that Ashley did make it three weeks, so give her a round of applause — as she does deserve it!)
“That was a lot of money to spend!” said Michael. “Now it’s no good.”
“Hold on,” I quickly countered. “There’s got to be something you can do with it.”
Michael quickly agreed, so he’s loading up the pump and taking it to Green’s Small Engine Repair to see if it can be reworked to run a slate call, or throw a clay pigeon. Or something!
Stay tuned to see what Waddell comes up with. There really is no telling.

Great stuff Blanton, I'll be back for more.

Don't feel bad, David, blogging is new to me as well. Keep up the interesting stories.
Nice start to your blog! Interesting thats for sure! Stories like breastfeeding pumps turned into turkey calls hold attention pretty well... Good hunting and writing David!
David, I definately don't know what a blog is. In fact this is the first time I've seen one. I guess you have to come out of the woods to look at a computer. Anyways got to get because the birds are cranked up here in OK. God Bless.
This is my first attempt at blogging too. Nice job. You guys at realtree are awesome. Love the videos. Keep em coming. Look me up the next time you are in the Texas whitetail woods.

I will enjoy hearing more from you on the blog. Love the video clips thanks for putting them on the site
You have a great blog. I really injoyed it. I will definately come back for more. Tell Michael that he can turn it into a preditor call. Can't wait to see what happens or what you put down next. Good luck with turkey and deer hunting. If you guys are going to be doing any hunting in West Virginia, then let me know. I would love to go hunting with you guys.
Love the blog !! Congrats to Michael and Ashley on their new additions !! My son and I saw him last week in Dothan @ the "Country goes Huntin" Expo/concert. He mad my son's day by signing his program and hat. He even took time to "talk some turkey" with him.. My son is still on "cloud 9".
Hey David nice job. Keep up the great work. Tell micheal i feel for him. My wife just bought one of those machines also and tell micheal im turning mine into a state of the art snort wheeze/turkey gobble machine guaranteed to put the judo chop on those big bucks and turkeys up here in MN. Hey anytime you and Micheal want to get to MN and hunt out of our double bull blinds and put the smackdown on some turkeys let me now.
Great Blog enjoyed the fun information. Can't wait to see MBXV.
congrats to Michael on the twins. hope Ashley is doing good.
Great Blog David! I will definitely be coming back. I too can feel Michael's pain. Ashley probably bought the same one my wife had to have. On a good note she's currently using it for our second son, Cole, who was born March 19th. She got a lot of use out of it when our first son, Gage, was born. I totally understand about babies and hunting not mixing well. I'm still trying to get in the field more. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Got two future hunting buddies! Keep up the good work. Can't wait for the new video to come out!

I, too am new to blogs. Enjoyed this one, David. If I remember correctly, I met you at your taxidermy and meat-processing shop in Cuthbert about 20 years ago. I watch Realtree Outdoors every Saturday and Sunday. Just bought about 92 acres near Plains, Georgia, surrounded by farms. Would love to get help from you on setting up food plots and deer management. My goal is to build a small wildlife preserve and to be able to bring in a few handicapped and needy kids to hunt and fish (no pay for hunting and fishing). Can you help me? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I would greatly value anything from you, Bill Jordan, or Michael Waddell.
