Monster Down!

One of my dearest friends in the whole world, Al Kraus of Rapid City, South Dakota, just shot a monster buck. Al is the owner of Black Hills Archery where he is regarded as “the expert” in the SD, WY, NE corner of the world. Al knows archery equipment as well as anyone. He and T-Bone are the best I’ve ever had the privilege to work with when it comes to setting up bows.

Al killed this monster while we were hunting together in Iowa on October, 30. The buck grosses green at 203” and has only 3” abnormal points making it basically a 200” gross typical whitetail. Unreal!

It is the largest buck every killed with a Realtree camera.

And not only is the deer mind boggling but video is incredible! What a hunt for Monster Bucks XVI!

I watched you on the hunt with Mitch Ensor this morning. I think you must be a wonderful person just by watching you cry with this dying man--that show of emotion isn't "made up" for TV. I don't know you or Mitch; I am just a lady from a little town in Southwest Virginia who happened to stop on the Realtree show and had the priviledge to see the whole show. God bless you and Mitch and everyone who was involved in that hunt. I cried along with you guys on that kill...and had to surf the net to try to get this message to you. Thank you and him for touching my life.
    Sincerely,
    Karren Ferguson...Abingdon,VA.

    David,

I agree with Karen Ferguson's comment. I found this Blog because I was so touched by your gift to Mr. Ensor that I wanted to contact you. I have watched a number of your hunts on TV. In every instance your values of love of family, love of God, and the importance of decency and integrity are obvious. I teach in a high school and tell my students that we define our character through our actions. You show character that many would do well to emulate. You strike me as a humble, caring and god fearing man at your core. In an age where many have lost sight of the values that have made us a great nation you are a shining example of how a man should live their life. I have met many people in my 51 years. It is impossible to me that you are different in "real life" than you appear to be on your hunts. I don't write fan mail, but consider me one of yours.

I was in South Dakota hunting with my dad and brothers who live near Rapid City(I was fortunate enough to draw a west river any deer tag), and my uncle, who frequents Black Hills Archery, told me about this MONSTER that Al had shot in Iowa. First time I've seen it, and it truly is a MONSTER. Can't wait to see the live footage on Monster Bucks XVI. Thanks for sharing the picture David.

Congratulations on an awesome buck. I know what it's like to have a good friend like T. Turner and Al. I have an awesome pro I go to for that. He's an incredible shot as well. I just want to thank you Mr. Blanton for all you've done for me in the hunting field. I've watched you, Mr. Waddell, and Mr. Jordan all my life and the videos and shows. I've learned so much. Thank you for all you do both in and out of the woods.

Congratulations on an amazing animal. He's a monster. I can only imagine what that would look like in the woods. Mr. Blanton, I just want to thank you for everything you've done for me in relation to hunting and life itself. I've been watching you, Mr. Waddell, and Mr. Jordan since I've been able to crawl. Thank you for all you've done both in and out of the woods. Maybe I'll see you at Seven J. in a couple of years. That would be "awesome." God bless,
    Rob
