<p>New Record Blue Cat in GA</p>

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –A new state record blue catfish was caught this week at Lake Walter F. George.

It’s now being certified by the state.

You have to see this monster to believe it.

The fish is 49-inches long and weighs 80-pounds 4-ounces.  That’s five pounds heavier than the previous state record.

Earnest Timpson of Edison caught the catfish Tuesday night below the dam near Ft. Gaines using fillets from a little white bass he caught minutes earlier.

Timpson was alone and was exhausted when he finally pulled the giant fish into his boat after a long battle.
