Realtree Advance for Dover - Elliott Sadler
Elliott Sadler Back in the Cockpit of the No. 88 Real Tree Outfitters Chevrolet at Dover International Speedway for JR Motorsports
Dover, Del. (September 22, 2010) – For the second time this season, Elliott Sadler will carry the Real Tree Outfitters colors on the No. 88 Chevrolet fielded by JR Motorsports (JRM). Sadler will be back in the cockpit in the Dover 200 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) at Dover International Speedway on September 25, 2010.
With Sadler piloting the No. 88 Chevrolet, twice with the Real Tree Outfitters logo on the hood, the team has an average finish of 11.0 in his three races at New Hampshire, Michigan and Richmond. Sadler has led laps in each of his three starts with JRM, pacing the field for a total of 26.
“I am proud to have another opportunity to race the Real Tree Outfitters Chevrolet again,” said Sadler. “I’ve had a blast racing here at JRM. It’s quickly winding down, and that gives you fewer and fewer chances to win races. I can’t tell you how exciting it would be to get a win for Dale Jr. and the 88 Realtree Outfitters team. Dale and I have been friends for a long a time, and I’d love to get Bill Jordan a win, too. It would be a pretty special victory lane if we were able to win this weekend at Dover.”
In five previous NNS starts at Dover, Sadler scored two top-10 finishes. Known as the “Monster Mile”, the race winner takes home the coveted “Monster” trophy, one of the most coveted prizes in NASCAR.
“I haven’t raced a Nationwide car at Dover in a while,” Sadler concluded. “But fortunately it’s a place that hasn’t changed much at all. You’ll hear Dover compared to Bristol, but on a larger scale and that’s true to a point. They’re both concrete, but at Dover you really drop off into the corner. It’s very unique in that aspect. The corners are really long, so you want your car to rotate really well. You’ve got to be 100 percent focused each and every lap. Dover is a place where the slightest mistake could end your day in a heartbeat.”
The No. 88 Realtree Outfitters team led by crew chief Tony Eury Sr., has finished inside the top-10 in the last seven races at the Monster Mile. The streak dates back three years to the fall of 2007. In that time the team has an average finish of 4.4, and earned one win, three top-five and seven top-10 finishes. The No. 88 Realtree Outfitters team is ranked seventh in the 2010 owner points after Richmond.
The 200-lap/200-mile race is scheduled to take the green flag Saturday at 3:30 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN2 TV, MRN Radio and Sirius NASCAR Radio Channel 128.
