Lets have a little fun! You have $1000.00 you can buy any handgun you want. What would you get?
Only one choice!
I'm on the market for a new semi but with an extra grand I'd get the new S&W .460. SWEET! http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, it would definitely be a 1911 of some brand. Para, or Kimber probably.

I too would be interested in having one of the new Smith's but you won't be finding any of those for $1000 yet. Give it a year.
If not the Smith I would really like to build another 1911. I would do a hot rod .38 super.

Thats weird. The .500's are going for well under a grand. Right around $800.00 out here.

Agreed that you can have a 500 for well under a thou. The 460s will hover around the MSRP for a while. They should come down in price after the initial demand subsides.
This is just a SWAG . I would think the demand is gonna be more for the 460 as it is alot more versatile than the 500.

A Kimber Tactical Pro II. Amazingly accurate out to 25 yards, even with a 4" barrel.
But that is just me.
I would have to go for a frame and slide only. I will furnish the guts. I would take the STI 2011 Long Slide. I can build a decent gun with that.

Well, add about $500 and I would get a Les Baer Premier II 1911, but, if I had to stick with a grand I would get a Springfield XD in .45 GAP

I've got a Dan Wesson 44 mag I've had since the mid 80's, that is one smooth trigger and a fine shooting gun there..
Yep Rambo, that's the one I want.. I carried the p220 with k-kote as a police officer. The k-kote sucked.
