Our fall season starts today. Deer are taking a back seat this week. Wish us Mainers luck. We need it. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Good luck Jim! I wish I would have drawn a fall tag here. Going after one with the DynaTec?
Oh Ya... Fall hunt is archery only here.....Been watching a few birds. See what happens.

Do you make any changes to your setup at all Jim? Broadhead, slower speed, etc.? I know if I got a fall turkey tag, I'd be going archery!

I was out after turkeys this morning as well. Had about 6 fly down 30 yards from where I was at but they did not move my way. They went the other way. Another flew down from a tree the other direction and flew right over me but he didn't land anywhere around. I'm going to setup in the other direction of the roosting area or get in there in the evening and try to ambush them before they fly up. I didn't adjust the speed of my bow but am using a NAP Spitfire for turkeys rather than the Montec G5 I'm using for deer.
Good luck http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I have had some turkey within bow range the past couple of weekends, but they were all hens. In the fall here, they have to be gobbler or a bearded hen.

luckily for us we can shoot any turkey in the fall, so if I see a good sized hen I won't hesitate. Think I'm gonna head back to the same spot in the morning about a half hour earlier and try to cut off the birds. If they do the same thing they did this morning it may work out in an ambush.
