Not legal to harvest a hen in the spring here...but the fall its perfectly legal. I guess it depends on the size of the flock. Yes alot of time and hard work went into rebuilding over the years, but we still have to manage it. Surely won't hurt to harvest a few hens! http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Congrats on your bird.
In the fall here, if you shoot a hen she has to have a beard. I have never seen a bearded hen out at our place, but if I do and I have my bow in hand, you can bet that I will add her to my list of trophies http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, that is if she gives me a good shot opportunity http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

As snapper said it has to be in the fall for us to be able to take one. If givin the opporunity to take one I sure will. There is a ton of turkeys out where I hunt and a thinning wouldn't hurt.
