I been hunting for a long time mostly archery but I just got into hunting with a In-line Muzzleloader this year. I have a CVA Ultima Pro. My question is, after you are done hunting for the day, do you all fire your shot or let it in there and just take out the primer...or do you take everything out after you are done?

I load my M/L the evening before opening day, and leave it loaded untill I bag a Deer. At the end of a hunting day I always remove the primer. NEVER leave a M/L primed if you are not hunting.

I pull the primer and call it good. At the end of the season I fire it, clean it and put it away.
Depends on the weather. If its dry, I pull the ignition source and wait till the next hunt. If it is damp, raining, etc., I pull the bullet and powder charge when I clean it after hunting. I remove the breechplug and push the pellets and sabot/bullet through. Follow this with a good cleaning. Typically, I don't just fire it off, unles its the last day.

If the humidity is low, I keeep it loaded for about three or so days before dumping. If its raining, I dump it. When it's cold, don't take your gun in and out of the warm house out to the cold, then back to warm house...could cause barrel to sweat. I leave mine, un-primed, on my enclosed un-heated porch. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
