A few of you in here were saying how Bush was planning on cutting the combat pay to save money and so called "screwing the troops". Well, this is the real scoop published in the recent Military Pay and Benefits message.

Combat Pays
What : The current rates of imminent-danger pay and family seperation pay, originally designed to be temporary wartime rates, now become permanently fixed into law. This prevents danger pay, also known as hostile-fire pay, from dropping from the current $225 rate back to $150 a month and prevents family seperation allowance, now $250 a month, from reverting to $100.
Who :About 180,000 people draw both of the special pays
When : Effective immediately

So there you have it. As the crappy rappers and hoodlums say...Nuff(usually pronounced enough) said homeslice and stop aking (usually pronounced acting) like you a Kerry Fan. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It was once said in here. Or should I say, questions were asked about it. I am just clarifying it so the question don't arise again. !

Think I heard on the news or maybe a Bush basher on here saying that combat pay was cut. Never believed it though.

I had posed a question about if Bush had reduced it or was planning to. I wasn't sure so I asked TSBH about it since he has been in the situations where those types of pay are warranted.

No seriously, this is your answer that I promised that I would get for you! I didn't know either what was going to happen. Rumors fly around just as fast in the military as they do in the civilian world.
