I JUST PUT MY STEALTH CAM OUT THIS PAST WEEKEND, AND WAS WONDERING HOW LONG THE BATTERIES WOULD LAST AND AT WHAT SETTINGS DOES EVERYBODY HAVE THEIRS SET AT? HOPE I GET SOME PICTURES. I SET IT UP ABOUT 4 FEET OFF THE GROUND. IS THAT O.K. OR SHOULD I CHANGE THE ELEVATION OF THE CAMERA? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!

I have 2. I'm getting about 3 weeks of battery life out of mine this time of year. In the winter it's more like a week. I set mine about 3 or 3.5 feet off the ground. Try to set it up in an area where the sun rising and setting is not going to trigger it or where the wind blowing branches will not trigger it.

HOW MANY MINUTES APART DO YOU HAVE YOURS SET AND HOW MANY EXPOSURES? JUST CURIOUS!
I get close to a month in the summer, and 2-3 weeks in the winter. I set it for one pic, but depending on the activity in that spot I set it from 3-45 minutes. My corn feeder gets hammered, so I do not want to burn a roll in one day.

I don't know if you have digital or not but with my digital I like setting mine for 3 pix with a minute apart. With the chip that came with it I can hold 156 pix and with some cheap memory chips I can get up to 1500.
I started putting mine at about 4 feet but it seems the reaction time has slowed down so now I'm putting it at 6.5 feet like the instructions say so I can catch motion farther so by the time the deer gets where I want it it finally takes a pic.

The stealth cam film cam I have out is set about 3 feet off the ground with a wedge behind it to angle it down, but the tree it is on is on a hillside. Have it set at the factory defaults. Face either north or south to keep from having false triggers.

I set mine for 1 picture every 1 minute. I noticed when setting it to take 3 pictures at a time the deer got spooked. First pic the deer would be calm, 2nd would be looking at the camera, 3rd would be a tail and the deer would be bolting.
i have had the same batteries in mine for 4 weeks now and have yet to change them. as for camera set up. i usually put it about 3ft. off the ground and depending on where it being put depends on the time setting. feeders i put atleast 10-30 minutes depending on how often the feed is being hit. on trails i set it a 1minute.

i have one that usually last for me with duracell batteries about a month, i keep it about 3 1/2 to four feet off the ground no higher, make sure you use scent control because sometime you can get yout scent on or around it and the deer wont come around it for the scent desipates....also big tip, never face it east or west, the sun will triggger it! i learned the hard way...lol...if your in the woods i dont think it matters, but if you have the optiopn dont face it east or west.. make sure there are no stickes haging in front of it or tall weeds that can blow back and forth in strong wind and trigger the camera each time, i have mine set for one every minute...good luck! cant wait to see your pics~!
