i located in O'fallon its about 80 or 90 miles west of st.louis the main farm i hunt is almost right dab in the middle but i have a 1000 acre farm in macon that is up north central i guess have hunted in kirksville also that is more north west

Hello all, Ivol here! October first was the opener here in Ohio. I hunted Saturday morning at my usual public land spot and arrowed an eight point with a kicker on his left tine. I have to get the pics on so you guys can see. It's not a huge rack but hey it's one point for each tine an inch and over so it will still score for the contest. Does anyone know if kicker points count for the total score if they are an inch or longer?

I will check back in later. BTW Team Rattle and Rub sounds pretty cool to me. It gets my vote.

didnt get squat seen a bunch of does only had 1 within bow range and she laid down 20 yards behind my stand
walking out of the wood sunday morn. i heard a grunt and wouldnt ya know there about 80 yards was a 145in. 10 and a upper 150's 12 walking along bumping does wasnt chasing but acted like he was starting to feel the itch a little more

I was only able to hunt Sat. evening.... didn't see zippp....I was surpised to see a rub line....My guess a small buck...... he did have a small tree... 1" in Dia. snapped in half.....do ya think he can't wait for the rut...

Saskmans buck is a beauty indeed. However, it is only one deer. The key here is for everyone to get deer. Bucks would be nice, but doe are worth points too. Remember, if you get a better deer you can replace your previous entry.

I won't be able to get a better score this year because you are only allowed one buck per season. If I get lucky enough to get another deer it will have to be a doe. My 13 points will have to stand this season.

The game has changed. They started picking my three hundred acre deer hideout last night, should be done come friday. Should help the deer moving in the woods after daylight, they were moving just before daylight. I have seen three bucks no shooters. Good luck to everyone.....

Hey ya all......got me a doe on Sun. To Make a long story short........ She was my first deer with a bow........25 yards.... shattered the front shoulder bone and doubled lunged the girl..... she went maybe 40 yards and it was over....

OK here is my shot story huntin with a bow.....taking a guess at some of this..

1986 purchased a PSE PhaserII from my buddy...zip
1987 zip
1988 hit a doe and never found her
1989 missed a turkey....missed another turkey
1990 met my future wife......missed a 6ptr... i blew it big time...
2 little girls in 2 years...moved to Indiana and stopped bow hunting,,arggggg!

2001 brushed the dust off the old bow, sat up in the ole tree and I remember saying to myself, wow ! This is awsome ......missed a doe
2002 zip
2003 zip
2004 practiced like never before.... zip.. always told myself that I would never buy a new bow until this ole 1983 phaserII put one down......... guy at work walked up to me with a bow in his hand... 2001 PSE Carrera.... never been shot.....I gave him $100.... I looked it up on PSE and the MSRP was $600 plus....lol
2005 Shot over 3000 arrows this year with my new bow..... What a diff. 22 years of bow tech. makes...

I fill out a bow hunting survey for the state on IN. It's panning out just like last year, I see 1 deer per 3 hours I hunt. So far I have hunted 24 hours and have seen 8 deer.......What do ya all think your average is per hours hunted? ...just courious......

I was wondering if anyone was hunting. I have been at it pretty hard and went buckless with my first archery tag, Permit archery started yesterday. I have to kill another doe and then hope to catch up to a buck. Only saw one deer in about five hours of hunting. A little yammer just out of bow range. Don't think I would have shot it anyhow.

took my 12 year old cousin out sat. for the youth hunt it took about 1 hour a she harvested a nice 8 point her first buck ever she has taken 1 doe a year for the last 2 years now she wants one like the one on my wall she says told her it would take some work the bad think is her mom and dad dont want her out there in the reg. gun season and this year in mo. they are predicting that it is going to be right in the middel of the rut
didnt hunt to hard this wekend wanted to take the cousin out but i did do a little boy the little bucks are realy feeling it seen a fork horn last weekend chasing and this weekend seen a 6 chasing a doe and sunday seen a spike chasing
from sep.15 to end of oct. see about 1 deer per 3 hours from nov. 1 to 3rd wek of nov. 1 deer per hour hunting mostly bucks during this period from 3rd week of nov. to jan.15 the end of season its prob. around 5 deer per hour mid to late dec. to jan15 its nothing to see 20 to 25 deer per hunt in the evnings

hasvested a button buck sat. thought it was a doe hate shoting them little guys you couldnt even feel the buttons with your had only way to tell was the think in the way when i rolled it over to feild drees it
it was 75 degrees out so i had to hurry up and skin and quarter it and get it on ice i was having trouble posting it but i e-mailed the pic. to need to hunt to see if he could do it for me
gun season starts this sat. so its mt turn got all the kids taking care of during the yoputh season so daddy gets to have some fun weekend without any kids wooooo hoooo good luck to everybody

I'm glad to here that folks are doing well. I hope that there is more to come. I have been taking my kids on a regular basis and the kids are only seeing a couple here and there but so far no arrows have flown. My 11 year old had one at twelve yards on the side of the tent where we couldn't get a shot. I tried slipping his crossbow through the window and holding it for him but when he saw the buck he got so excited that he let out a " Oh My god!" http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and that was the last we saw of that buck. Hello team...... good job ya all.....

Im back from my MO. trip and I just cound not find those bucks I was looking for.. I believe they were in the area with all the big rubs, and some nice big rubs where showing up as the week went on...

I did manage to shoot a 7 pointer with my bow.....that was awsome!! HE went maybe 50 yards.. double lunged again.....2 deer with my bow this year.....waa hooo !! I guess I am going to show him as a 6 as far as the score goes...... I broke his brow tine off as I was lifting him up with a chain to hang him up......... good grief ! ! I was hot....

anybody do any good this weekend
i went sat. evening seen 8 does 1 little 6
was talking to the neighbor of our property and he says we saw a big 14 pointer witch i think he is crazy i've been seeing a big 12 and when i told him that he said it 300 yards away when he say it so im thinking hes exagerating a little bit but it is stil a good deer i've seen it 4 times now when i was in the stand all our gun seasons are over know so hes made it been trying to set up on him but every time i thik evry thing is just right (wind and so forth) he comes out in a diff. spot go figure right closest i had him was 60 yards the wek before gun season there was littler bucks in the feild and i snort weezed at him and he came baraling out of the woods and started wooping buts

Still working on it! Had a guy cut me off on the first day of the Jersey opener. He'll probably be getting thrown out of the club at the meeting this Thursday if I have anything to say about it! One of those one day guys. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Firearm season is over.......bummer...... back to the ole bow and arrow......I may get a couple of days hear in Indiana to hunt.....I still have a bow tag to fill in the Show Me State.....we made a good run at it guys......been fun......but its not over yet http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
