Notice to all contestants
** "This notice only pertains to those users hosting pictures in Realtree's Picture Post" **

Be sure when uploading DEER Pics to put deer pictures in the "DEER CATEGORY"

Be sure when uploading HUNTING TAGS to put tags with the date and description in the "MISCELLANEOUS IMAGES" or "GENERAL HUNTING" categories so YOUR pics do not get moved.

This is very important if you want your pics to continually show up in the "ENTRY THREAD", because they will be moved if they are in the wrong category.

If you don't understand this post, please contact one of the moderators for clearification.

Hey guys. I'm James Vee. 23 years old. I hunt in Northwest Wisconsin. This could be either good or bad, but I'm being selective again this year. I took a couple nice bucks last year, a 120" 10 with a bow, and a 128" nine with muzzleloader. Time to kick it up a notch, I'm holding out for something bigger. Best of luck to you all.

Other than having to work on Mon and Thursday, I have all day hunts on Tues, Wed and Fri for ML, then our regular rifle kicks in!

Hey guys I had a great weekend in the woods with my bow saw a ton of deer 23 total 4 of which were bucks. Only two came in my range 30 yards both bucks. I Got to see my first buck "fights" just light sparing but still awsome none the less not just once but twice this weekend with diffrent bucks. Two of the deer bucks came WELL into range a nice 8 point and a very good 10 point.......I got the worst case of buckfever i've ever had and choked on both of my shots this. Glad i had the chance angry i blew the chance get um next time

As long as the rain holds off...it is 42 degrees here right now and should drop off this evening. Will let ya's know if I score. I post some better pics and enter it into the entry thread tomorrow. Looks like we have 6 guys without deer. I believe a couple of those guys are good for a real corker. I'm hoping to upgrade my doe. I'm pretty sure I'll see bucks in my 2 day hunt, but I'm hunting someone elses land so I'd rather not take a small buck out of his herd. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Swamphunter,
Was that a blackpowder or shotgun deer? I can't tell from the photo what kind of gun you are holding.

Thats a Remington 700. Chambered in 30-06. I looked at the pic and the barrel does look fat for some reason. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif It looks like a shadow. Here's another pic that shows the action. That is Bdboy53's doe in the pic also.

Congrats Swamp, we need the points, GEEEEZ its been a long weekend, i went down to lunenburg with my friend on Saturday, thought we were going hunting Saturday afternoon, but i was wrong. His grandparents wanted us to fix the gap in between the chimney in the house that day, i dont know why it couldnt have waited till sunday(we had nothing to do sunday) but they were telling us about the loggers in the back 100acres, one of them said he jumped the biggest buck he'd ever seen in his life. So we headed out Monday aint see nothing, my friend seen 5 does pulled the trigger but bad powder, so no deer, and we woke up late this morning, got to our stands at 630, my friend jumped 3 deer, i aint see nothing again, but im hoping to get something more for the board this saturday, Good luck all.

You know what sucks...we have one guy on our team, that his ONLY post in Realtree was to sign up for this contest and he has not been back. Coonhunter has 1 post from Sept 21st, to sign up here, and has not been back yet. I am a firm believe that unless you are at least somewhat active in this forum, you shouldn't be allowed to enter the contest. I mean I really don't care whether we win or lose, but as long as we had the same amount of active participants, it would be a bit more fair. Oh well. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congrats PA!Our weekend was pitifull.Still warm and 30 mph winds had deer bedded most of the day.I saw a nice non-typical yesterday, but he was out about 50 yards and did'nt respond to any calling at all. It's supposed to cool off this week and I'll be gone for 3 days next weekend for our shotgun season. There's still a lot of time left.

Just got back from my southerntier trip (sick), and was not able to better my 8 pointer. I had an 8 point come in, but couldn't get a shot. Missed a spike (center punched a sapling after being deflected by 1/4" limb). Did kill a button buck though. Saw lots of deer, just didn't score anything bigger.

Bob_D
11-14-2005, 03:40 PM
Congrats PA.

It looks like I won't be upgrading this year. I saw some VERY nice bucks this weekend, but they did not want to get closer then 50 yards. I'm probably going to take another doe inML season, but that does not help the team much.

brownie65
11-15-2005, 06:52 AM
I got a 8 point Sunday afternoon that will go in the mid 130's. Put my climber on the tree at 1:30 & shot him at 2:15. Was the third buck I had seen in the few minutes I was in the tree. They were chasing very good. I honestly thought he was a 150's class deer when I saw him coming. Saw his spread & rack & knew I was going to shoot him if he came in. Then I quit looking at the antlers to concentrate on his body. He came in alright. Shot him about 15 feet from the tree I was in. Almost straight down. Anyway my taxidermist took some pictures that he will email me sometime this week hopefully. Then I will be able to get a picture posted.

If the dogs wouldn't have got on her so quick i would have probably found her. But a guy at our club was driving dogs, and seen this deer fighting a dog, no lie, and he shot the deer(4pt). I am still waiting on my taxidermist to email me the pictures he took. If I don't get them this week I will give him a call. I was hoping to get them before shotgun season, I know he is busy now. I have some pictures but have no scanner or way to get them on the computer. If I have to I will go to WalMart & get them put on disc so I can email them. Shotgun season was real good. Didn't get one I wanted but it wasn't for lack of chances. My boy missed a 140 class. It was a tough shot & he was nervous. Would have been his first buck. I also missed a 140's & a 150's. Still kicking myself.

Here he is.

He has a 15" inside spread and 5" brow tines.I wish his g2's were a little longer.I don't know if he'll go 130 or not.I'll get him scored by the guy that's doing the mount for me.His neck was sweeled up huge.

If not, according to the rules I think he can right his tag info on a piece of paper and that is acceptable.

Here's what we got so far guys! I got one week left to better mine, but realistically I doubt it will happen. It would have to be with my either/sex muzzleloader tag. Anyone who hasn't scored watching some they are going to take?? How about you James?? Those were pretty impressive bucks on the pics...are you still seeing them?? Good luck guys!

ok guys, on my last buck I took a picture of the deer but no tag picture. Anyway it couldn't be counted. On a brighter note my son & I both shot 8 point bucks today. Yes,I did take a picture of the tag this time. I almost forgot again though,LOL. My wife was going out the door to go to Walmart, when I remembered & stopped her. She is going there to get pictures made. She is supposed to get some put on disc so as soon as I get them pictures will be posted. The buck my boy got was his first deer with visible antlers(last year was his first year deer hunting & he got a button buck) it was a 8 point that will go around 115". Very nice first buck for him. We are getting a European mount done on it. My buck is a 8 point that will score around 130". Not nearly as much spread as my bow deer but lot more mass.Anyway 2 nice 8 pointers for me & 1 for my boy this year so it was a good year. He is wanting to start bowhunting next year so am looking forward to that. I have seen a ton of nice 8 pointers this year. They will be really good bucks next year. Already looking forward to it. Actually looking forward to shed hunting season. OK I have talked enough, will get pictures on as soon as I can.

Tonight was my last night to hunt muzzleloader so my intentions were to fill a doe tag. I had a doe and two fawns come by first. (not wanting to shoot a doe with fawns I decided to pass) Not long after I recognized this buck as a cull buck that I wanted to get out of our herd since the beginning of archery season this year. It was a 10 yard shot. New England Firearms muzzleloader. He piled up only 30 yards from where he was initially shot. 7 point, 15" spread.

well i would upgrade but im only allowed 1 buck so its doe hunting the rest of the season for me also on team scores on team 7 by my name it says 11 points well if you get 5 points for either a buck or a doe then for each point the buck had on his antlers that's an additional point right ? well seeing as i got a 7 point and 5 points for getting a deer then shouldn't it be 12 points total ?

I'm done deer hunting for the year too. We're allowed 2 bucks, and I have both already,so I'll just be doing a little duck and goose hunting for the rest of the year.
Weather we win or not this sure has been fun!Lotsa good guys on our team.Good luck to everyone still hunting. It's not over yet.

Well this weekend was a big SKUNK. I passed on a 4 pointer that walked up about 3 minutes after I got in the stand on Friday evening, thinking I would see something better,NOT!!!!!!!!! I didn't see anything else all weekend. But the lady that owns the land said that I was so nice and polite that she is giving me 1 free hunt any day in Jan. before my season ends. So I have at least one more chance for us.
