Most of you probably already know me. But everyone else is doing intros...so here goes.
I am 32...but will be 33 by the time my season gets here in mid Nov. I have 2 boys, one 12 and one 9. I am an office manager for my Dad's land surveying company so I get the perk of getting off at 2:30 everyday....just right for hunting. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well team, after a week of backcountry hunting in southern utah I was very dissapointed with the lack of big bucks. After passing on numerous small bucks, I decided to shoot a "meat buck" on the last day at last light. I have passed on alot of bigger bucks, but took this one because of proximity to a road. Any buck with a muzzleloader is fun and he will feed my family this winter. Sorry I couldn't find his grandpa this year. Can I enter in my elk next month???

I was kidding about the elk, this is just the first year that I have shot a small "meat " buck. Yes I am done deer hunting. My elk hunt is next month also with a muzzleloader. We are taking horses 10 miles into the Uintas, should be fun.

Howdy folks. Just thought that I would add the team sig. and see how it looks. I will get out with the bow one more time (tomorrow) before archery season ends, and then the 23rd of this month the rifle season begins and runs for 5 weeks. I managed very little hunting time during archery season due to work and flying to NJ for my mom's funeral. There are a lot of 4x4 and 5x5 buck around but they have become mostly nocturnal the past month or so. I could have shot a couple of 3x3s this morning and also had a spike less than 10 yards away. I only have one tag so I will hold out for one with a lot of points, and with the rut approaching, and if the hunting Gods are willing, it just might happen. Good luck to all....hunt on!

yah well i'm out of commission until saturday. i let my uncle and cousin take my bow to texas as a back up this week just incase something went wrong w/ one of theirs. i figured this moon is messing everything up right now anyway so i just went ahead and let them take it.....this weekend i'll prolly head to baton rouge and watch LSU/AUBURN play so i prolly wont be back in the woods til sunday afternoon. Hopefully they kill and come back early so i can have my baby back!!!!

hey guys, whats up. sunday was the opener for general season and i got my bull at about 9:30. he is a 6x6. dad also got a 6x6 out of that herd and my little bro shot a raghorn, and uncle james shot a spike. we had 14 people in our group and 11 of us got elk. 8 bulls and 3 cows. but now that i got that out of the way i can concentrate on a big buck. my girlfriends family owns some good property so im going to see if i can get on with them. good luck and shoot straight.

coles, that's awesome, my muzzy elk hunt starts next week. Going for ducks and geese this weekend. caught 30 trout over 20" last weekend. I love this time of year.

Just got in from the evening hunt. Saw 3 bucks, a button buck and a doe fawn. The one buck may be a shooter. Didn't get a good long look at him (he was trailing a doe hard). But I'd have to consider it pretty hard if he gives me a shot.

Was seeing lots of deer the last couple weeks, but lately they kinda just quit moving. They had a youth weekend last weekend and the youngens did pretty well, 5 hunted w/ 3 killing, 2 does and a 6 pt. Goin' to try and go out this weekend, but i just been busy w/ school and the new lil lady(bad timing to find one i know). I'm off of school and work December 11th through January 15th so i have a lil over a month do nothin but hunt, hunt, hunt. Good luck guys and girls, hunt hard and get us some pts

Well........my archery season ended in a bust on Saturday. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Worst rut / chase.........or lack thereof........I've ever seen, I think. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I did get another couple looks at the buck I saw earlier in the season. I still don't know for sure what he is. I think he's the same deer that my buddy flubbed on Saturday morning from my wife's stand. He said it was a 9-point about 20" wide with long, white tines and no neck. That'd about add up.

Our gun season comes in Monday after Thanksgiving and runs 2 weeks. I don't know how much (if any) hunting I'll do then. Guess I'm really waiting for late archery which comes back in the day after Christmas.

Well, I'm PUMPED.
Muzzleload season starts Friday. Probably take off work and sit in the stand all day. Got plenty of deer coming in right now. Few real good rubs and scrapes to go with them. Food plot looks good too.

Moon's gonna make it hard, but maybe if I stay all day I'll see something. It's finally cooling down here and should be tolerable. Low 30's overnite and low 60's during the day.

Well guys i got another one friday afternoon w/ the muzzleloader. Had a deer come out in my plot about 5:15 and i had one doe tag left so i figured i'd give it a shot. It was about 140 yds and i looked at it w/ the bino's and it looked like a good doe so i let "her" have it. No trakin needed, dropped like a sack of bricks. When i got there it was a spike. We shoot at least 4 pt or better but accidents happen. I was pretty upset bc you could just tell he had some good potential in him. He weighed in at 130 lbs and i processed him and divided the meat up and gave it out to the ppl we lease our land from....they look forward to their meet every yr...anyway i'll get pics and what not but i'll get us a bigun' i promise..

Good here, just got a bow for next year. My elk hunt was a bust. two feet of fresh snow pushed the bulls into the pines and the cows down low. Got real cold and saw a lot of elk, just no bulls. Oh well, there's always next year.

Glad to hear the rest of the team has been doing pretty well. My hunting seasons, both bow and gun, went out the window with two disturbing events in my life, the first was the passing of my mom during the bow season and then just prior to gun season the other pharmacist took another job and I have been over worked and under paid (well over worked at least) since. I did pass up some smaller buck early in the gun season on the couple of days I did get coverage at work, but then the week off I had planned during the rut did not materialize due too the fill-in pharmacist needing oral surgery. Alas, I did not get my hunting "fix" or a chance at a decent buck (or elk for the matter). Sorry, I will quit whining, and congratulations to my team members who had success this past season. Good job!

Saw a grand total of 6 different bucks in the general bow season. Last year I saw around 30 different different ones. Can't even be sure I saw a shooter this year. Maybe one. Then, the day after Christmas our late archery came in. I didn't even see a buck at all since then. Season went out yesterday.
