Bow season started Sept. 17th for me. Then theres an early doe gun season end of Oct. and then the regular gun season week of Thanksgiving followed by a week of muzzleloader and a late doe season.

Gun season (bucks only) opens November 22nd - December 4th

Greetings my fellow Kickers and Stickers! Season opened this past weekend here in Kansas but I still haven't been out yet. If everything comes together I may get out once this coming weekend. My wife and I have 2 little ones under 2 years of age so you never know how things are going to shake out! Good luck and good hunting to all. Hey guys and gals! Sorry I'm just checking in. I didn't realize I was on a team till now. Just checked it. Sorry. I did shoot a doe Tues. and would have taken pictures of it if I'd known. Doesn't matter though. I'm going to Illinois to shoot a monster (hopefully!) the first week of November. We'll see. Here's a pic of the buck I put in the contest last year. Thanks y'all! I'm hoping to hunt this evening, Friday afternoon and all day Saturday. It's still warm here in VA. We could sure use some cooler temps to get the deer moving. I think the bucks are mostly moving at night.
I have another week and a half before I head to Illinois. I can't wait to go there. This will be my first hunt out of the state of VA. Here's a picture of a buck I got on my Great Uncles farm in 1998. Hope to see another like that when I go there this evening!

Where in WV do you live? My brother went to Potomac State Jr. College and played baseball for 2 years. I know y'all have some nice deer out there! I can't imagine you would want to leave Wisconsin to hunt our little VA deer! http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Louisa Co. has some pretty nice deer. A friend of mine shot a nice 9pt there a couple years ago and I've seens some real pigs come from out there. Still nothing compared to the body size out in Wis.

Eric - I live near Beckley in Raleigh County but I have to hunt in Kanawha County near Big Chimney on my cousins property. MAJOR bummer only getting to hunt like 2-3 weeks out of the whole year but it's better than not getting to go at all! Those bucks hanging on your walls are definately something I've never seen up here! I've seen a few nice bucks that people have killed, but nothing that big. The pics you've posted definately have me (as well as everyone else!) drooling....!

just an update here.....went out this weekend and saw a few deer....1 doe with a forkhorn trailing her and a 120 class 8pt. Tough decision to pass on the 8pt but there are better deer in the area and the season is just now getting good. Hopefully in my next post I'll put some numbers on the board for us!! GL all

Hey guys and gals, sorry it has been so long since I have been on here, I have been hooked up with a new job, moving, and hunting. I haven't seen any shooters yet, just does and fawns and some small bucks. I did see a young 6 pointer chase a doe 20 yards from my stand Sunday, so they should be rolling the next two weeks here in Oklahoma.While I have some time here I will post a few pics of mine, all of these deer came of my grandpas land in last 6 years, we have been trying to manage it the best we can. Well guys and gal, I'm leaving on Sunday for my hunting trip... our rifle opener starts on Monday, so I won't be back until Sunday the 27th. Well guys...bad news. I shot a doe this weekend with a .44 mag pistol and didn't even think about getting a pic until after it was at the processor. Sorry about that!! On a positive note, my cousin shot his first deer this weekend. He is 15 years old and his parents don't hunt. MY uncles, cousins, and my family all take turns taking him to the woods. He loves hunting and enjoys going with all of us. Saturday he was sitting with my dad on our place and a monster comes down the draw in front of their stand. Keep in mind, he has never even shot at a deer. It keeps walking while my dad is trying to get to stop by grunting at him. It finally stops at 180 yards and my cousin takes a shot and puts it right on the heart. It was a 16 point monster that green scored 184 1/8" non-typical. Makes another big deer on the wall from our place. And for all the people that think Oklahoma can't produce trophy deer, I believe they are wrong. We consistantly put good deer on the wall. Here are a couple of pics of the deer he shot. Sorry, they aren't in the field, those pics haven't been developed yet. I thought he would score 160-165" but he will fool you. We scored him sveral times and got close to the same score every time. He is a 160" main frame 10 point with 24 inches of abnormal points. It will be hard for him to beat this one!!
