Hi Guys,

My real name is Joe and I'm new at this contest. Please forgive me if I have lots of questions. If anyone has questions for me I am usually checking in weekdays from 7am-3pm est. Sunday nights on the weekend.

As for a name? I have no clue? The only name I can think of is the name of my hunting camp "Hornybuck Lodge". Team Hornybuck?

Hey guys, opening day here for bow season and I saw a nice 8pt. just out of range this morning. Hopefully I can get some points on the board pretty quick this year.

Where are you guys hunting this year?

I'm in SW Arkansas and will hunt north central AR around Thanksgiving and Christmas. There's supposed to be a big 10 around my stand, but I havn't seen him yet.

what about "rutbusters"?

yea thats a good one too...im hunting here in maine, i already have a 6 pointer on the board, but i had an encounter with a big buck tonite, not sure how many points... i have to go down on the other side of the swamp about 50 yards and try it again monday...

Hi guys,

My season doesn't start till October 15th so I have to wait a couple weeks to start racking up points. However I will be hunting right up till Dec. 20th. I hunt with a ML, rifle & shotgun. Here in NY our season is divided into 2 zones, northern & southern NY. Northern (ML/rifle) starts Oct. 15 and southern (shotgun only/ML) start Nov. 19.

Hopefully I can put some decent points on the board. I am not a trophy hunter by any means. The only red meat in my house is venison so I concentrate on killing 3 deer deer to fill the freezer. If I get a big buck in the process it's bonus. I am assuming we can enter only one deer in this contest so I will wait till I (hopefully) get a decent buck to enter.

As for a name, hmmmm? Let's wait to hear what Nick thinks of for a name when he gets back from his bear hunt. I do like Rut Busters.

It's now 7pm and I have some chores to do. I will check back with you guys in the morning.

Hi Guys,

Went coyote hunting on Saturday morning on my usual stomping grounds. I saw about 20 deer and most of them were does. Many I did not see because of all the leaves. I did see a squirrelly little spike horn chasing some does. I had to laugh because the does he was chasing were bigger than him. Images of that little guys trying to mount some doe that is 2X his size had me chuckling as I wandered off the hill. His rack was so small and splindly. I would have passed him during season but I have a feeling my neighbors will make short work of him.

I'm going up to my Adirondack camp this weekend and check for big buck sign. That will be my best bet for killing a Booner.

Went out for the first time with the old cannon...lots of does and 3 bucks in the 140 range. I'm waiting on 2 deer though that I picked up sheds from last spring. Hopefully i'll add to our score this weekend. Good luck folks.

Tech29OhYeah is hunting.....he doesn't have computer access..... actually I am his computer access.....

He's my brother-in-law. He's been hunting already this season, just hasn't had a good one in bow range yet.....

Way to start off the season fellas! I've went out a few times but havnt seen any bucks. Three scrapes appered just the last couple days within 20 yards of my treestand. They are under the same tree limbs I watched a decent 8-pt scrape under last year. This year I set my stand by the trees hoping he would be back and sure enough!! If I cant see him the next coupld times out I might pop a doe. But good luck everybody.

Hi guys,

Here is a repeat of what I posted in the deer hunting room. I sat in me tree stand for hours Saturday and never saw a deer. It's the first time that has happened since I put this stand up 6 years ago. I was really strange, not even a doe waltzed by. Saturday evening I got bored and did some still hunting. I couldn't even buy a fresh track or dropping. Last year we doubled up by 2pm so this was hard to take. It was so discouraging that my best friend and I didn't even go out this morning (that and the 30-40mph gusts of wind). Anyway..........I'm going to another spot this Wednesday that is MUCH more productive. Still I would love to know where all the deer went

Well the last couple times I have been out I haven't seen a single deer. Pretty frustrating, but the rut hasn't kicked in just yet. Should be sometime next week or next weekend, so there is still plenty of time to put more points on the board. How is everyone else doing?

Well guys, I passed on 10 does today and had one nice sixpoint come in to my tink's #69 but we have a rule here that says you can only shoot buck with at least four points on one side.Oh well, Im gonna keep huntin this spot and well see what happens.

Hi Guys!

I put the smackdown on a doe over the weekend. I had a doe permit given to me so I filled the freezer with some meat. I hope to post some pictures tomorrow after I get the film developed.

Our shotgun season opens this Saturday this will be my best chance for harvesting a buck.

just checking in...havent been around my computer crapped the bed, been down for amonth but im back up now...been hunting hard this november, and all ive seen is one doe...getting down to the nitty gritty here, 3 days left in the rifle, then muzzleloading starts...

I too got a deer but nothing as grand as yours. I only have 6 points to offer. When the deer came through I could see 4 points on one side so I took the shot. Unfortunately the other side had two points that are not long enough. I will post it when I finish the roll of film in a few days.

Yeah that is a brute for sure. Awesome job guys. I didn't see a buck worth shooting all of shotgun so my last ditch attempt will be a few trips in the coming weeks for late archery. Plan to set up on a field and see what happens. Good luck to all that are still hunting.

Just got back from our Horn Scoring night in town. My buck officially nets 185 1/2 Non typ. Grosses at 192 1/8th. The amazing thing is that he is a 4 x 4. Here are some measurements...7 1/4 bases, 26 main beams, 14 g2 and spread of 22 inches. I'm a lucky guy.

Hi Nick,

Yep I'm killing. I took a black powder doe this past Sunday. So my freezer is now full. I should have pictures posted in a few days.

All of our deer seasons are now closed here in NY so it's up to the youngsters to bring home the trophy for us http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
