One more thing, I have to let you guys know this, I cannot hunt deer until my 14th birthday. Which is on November 25th. That's the minimum age here in NY to hunt with a bow.

I got a doe this morning. No horns yet. But talked to the neighbor (as in 75 yds)when i went back to get her. He has a apple tree 15-20 foot from his house. He says there is a Big 8 pt coming in right at dark to eat apples. Then my other friend, whom dry walled his house, said he seen it over by my stand. He said he was a basket rack, big buck.

Hopefully tonight, i'll be back with him!

ML Season starts Saturday and runs through the 30th! Im ready. I prefer bow hunting but havent been able to get out much this year. I bought a new ML and im looking forward to putting it to good use!

Its suppose to turn out cold this weekend. Hopefully they will be moving full force!

Things are looking up. I have been hunting a rub. Was gone Sat., Sun. and did not hunt ther Mon., Tues. but I went in last night and he has been back freshening it up and now there is a scrape with dropping and the smell of buck urine. Hope he comes thru soon.

Muzzleloader season here in Iowa. Passed on smaller bucks. Have until Sunday night then it's back to bow. Saw a 140 -150 inch 8 point on night , however, he was out of range.

I seen couple small bucks sat. chasing a doe. The 3 pt. came to the 7 scrapes (lol) Boy, he was a very good size deer! Wish i hadn't taken that other spike. But Mr. Big didn't show. I know there is one around there though. I'm not sure if she is kinda close or if they just can't wait. Might go out tonight if weather is ok.

It would be a good day to be in the woods here in Okieland. It is cold and practically no wind here. I went out yesterday and setup for 4 hours. On the way in I took a shot at a bobcat but did not see anything else. Checked my other stand location on the way out and he now has 3 scrapes full of droppings. I really need to get out there for a morning hunt.

Muzzleloader eneded on Sunday. No deer. Passed on 6 smaller bucks and 6 doe. Too much corn still standing. Hopefully in another week they will be moving here in Iowa. Back to the bow and arrow.

Nothing to report here either. Been going out 4 days a week after work and every weekend and not seeing crap. They should be giving me points for how much stand time I have been putting in.

I passed a 120+ class buck Saturday because his left side was busted clean off. I put the story in the deer hunting section. He was an amazing animal!

Yep.... My Texas season starts this weekend coming up. I have not hunted this lease before but the last deer killed off it scored 198 and some change. There has not been a gun on this place in 4 years so I think it is gonna be awesome. We put up feeders 3 weeks ago and came back a week later and were already seeing deer. Plus 800 acres is planted in Wheat and Oats. I could really rack up some points if I see a monster. Let's get it on like donkey kong, we need some points boys.

Well...I missed!! Sitting on ground on some state land, all of sudden a doe flys by my at less than 5 yds. She came from behind me, i was like"holy crap that was close"
Sat there waited...here comes the bigfooted monster, clump, clump, burp, burp.
Running flat out right where she ran... he got by me..got the bow up..whistled! He didn't stop, he ran the other way...i spooked him! He got down the hill below me,facing away. He looked back, then when he looked away, i drew my bow. I was aiming for the middle (i know my heads will go thru to bottom of his chest) I took the shot too fast and shot to the left of him out of all the excitment.

He wasn't huge...by a shooter around this area..15-16 wide.
It was meant to be..cause a guy told me he pulled in by the state land, he seen a huge 9pt.
A bigger buck may be in my life this morning...

Things slow in IOwa. Had this 8 point and another smaller one under my tree last Sunday night at 15 yards. I'm holding out for 150 inches or more. This guy probably hit 130 only.

I almost shot another descent buck last night. 50 mph wind gusts. Went out, just sat down..acutally laid down. 5 min. I look over here comes a shooter possible (4 or more pts on one side) He gets 15 yds from me, i'm looking, looking, looking, i can't see if he has a dam brow tine!! That would have made it 4 pts. Well....i didn't shoot! As he went away, i think there might have been a inch of browtine.
Better safe than sorry! And i know there is bigger out there!! Somewhere........

I know.. I have been out the last few weeks and haven't seen a darn thing.. the weather has them all screwed up here.. expecting 3-5" of snow tonight.. should get them moving in the morning.

Tell me about it. I was hunting Texas this weekend and around lunch it was 75 by 5 o'clock it was down to low 30's. Did not see one single deer that afternoon and I have never sat my stand and seen less than 3 deer. Next morning it was low 20's and no deer. If that 6 point cull buck would have came out we we have been gaining 6 points. I did get a hog saturday on the way back to camp. He was in our wheat field.

Our deer season is over here unless I go over to Westchester, but I don't see that happening. So I'm glad I was able to throw 5pts into our count for us and I look forward to doing this again next year.

Guys I shot a buck and didn't find it til 2 days later. I don't know if they will let me put it in the contest. The only thing left is the head. Coyotes had tore him up. I stuck it in the freezer. I don't know how many scorable points he will have. He had quite a few horns broken off. I will get pics up soon.
