Heys guys, my season starts in the morning. This will be my first year to bowhunt. Don't worry I spent five months shooting my Diamond. I have a lot of good deer in my area. Good luck to yall, I talk to you soon.

hello team, my season has been going on a couple weeks. nothing on the ground yet. the cooler weather is finally kicking in. I'll be in the woods the next two days. hopefully will have us some points.

Looks like we got some winners here! My bow season starts Saturday. I probably won't hunt more than once a week though, until Nov 13th when gun season gets in.

Hopefully this year will be a better year than last. Last year we only took 5 doe on our property and no bucks. We have a size limit on our property of 8 points or better and last year was the first year in 16 years we didnt take at least 2 that were big enough. We only have 60 acres, but only 4 of us hunt it and we have been working with the adjacent landowners to have them stick to the size limit we have in place. All in all we have about 350 acres surrounding our 60 that are participating so it should be good. We have been able to see many large bucks but usually they were too far for a shot gun........but we now have a rifle season ! !

Bow season opens for me Oct. 15th. I will be checking the trail cams this week to see what we have. I will keep you posted.

checking in. our bow season has started 2 weeks ago. deer movement has been slow,but i'm sure things will pick up. looking forward to a good season,need some more venison!. good luck to all of the rest of team 19!!

Today was openin morning here. It got pretty cold overnight wednesday, so I expected the deer to me moving this morning. When we were drivin in, there were 3 deer in a cornfield on the property. I got to my stand around 5:40, sunrise was 6:30. I sat until 8:40 and never saw a thing. The most interesting thing i saw today was a squirrel. Pretty boring morning. I'll probably go out again in a week or two. I have to leave in an hour or two for a wedding, and I won't be home in time to hunt tomorrow.

Hey yall, my season started this morning also. I was in my stand at 5:30. At 7:00 I had an old doe slip up on me and I was busted. She blew a few times and ran off. About five minutes later she came back down wind of me. She walked around my whitetail clover patch for a while. This is my first bow hunt so I was really nervous and drawed my bow a little too soon and she caught me, needless to say she was gone. At 9:00 a young buck came down the same trail and ate in my patch for a few minutes. The wind was not in my favor and he winded me. I'm going to try the same stand this evening.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't checked in yet. I have been on vacation for the past week. This year is looking good though. Season started 2 weeks ago, I've let 13 walk so far and muzzleloader starts today. I'll be in the woods tommorrow afternoon. I've also got a 5 day trip to PA during the second week of Nov and my buddy in PA already have us a few bucks scouted. What will be our team name?

Well saw one yesterday with the muzzleloader in hand. She couldn't have been more than 60-70lbs. I let her walk. I'll be back at it this weekend though.

I can't go unless my dad takes me. My dad's shoulder is messed up too bad, so he can't bowhunt. I'll probably get out at least 1 day this weekend. Hopefully thats all it takes to get my deer. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I also have to go out and find some new boots sometime this weekend. Hey guys well I've hunted every evening this week. Seen a few deer, none within shooting range. I have three more weeks of bowhunting before muzzleloader opens. I seen everything but deer this evening. Look forward to this weekend, temp is supposed to get down in the forties. Thats cold for La in Oct. Good luck this weekend.

good to see you stickin around here, usually theres a buncha new members who sign up for the contest, and then never return.

I will be headed out again tomorrow morning probably. Need to get everything ready again. Hopefully I'll have better luck this time than last.

I went out both saturday and sunday morning. Saturday, I didn't see a thing. Yesturday, the day started off great. Before I had even nocked an arrow on my bow, I heard a couple deer in front of me. A minute or two later, it was finally light enough to see the fawn standing 15 yards from me. She walked by, giving me a perfect shot oppertunity, but it was too dark, and she was a little smaller than I wanted. I then saw another fawn, at least one large doe, and at least 3 little bucks. Of course they all stayed about 40 yards away from me, so I never had a shot oppertunity. All of those deer ran around my stand for about 40 minutes, and then I saw nothing else for the rest of the morning. Hopefully I'll get 'em a little closer next time.

Hey guys, well I kinda went against everything I've been doing for the last four years as far as QDM. I took a 1 1/2 year old spike this evening. I made this one exception. This is the first deer I've ever taken with a bow. I've worked so hard for the past few months and spooked several deer this past week. He gave me a perfect shot at 30 yards and I took it. I'm hooked!!! I'm sure I'll be able to upgrade, I've seen several nice bucks within muzzleloader range. I'll post pictures when I figure out how. Good luck guys.

I went out and sat most of the day today. I saw 4 doe, a 1 1/2 yo 8 point at about 50 yards, 1 small black bear around 200lbs, 3 grey squirls 23 turkey, but thats' about it. no luck everything just alittle out of range for me.

I went out this morning. Things just never really went my way. I got there late, and a deer was in a field, right were I usually walk to get to my stand, so I had to take a different route. I get there, and my uncle's huntin in it already, no big deal, I walked to my other one. A pair of fawns come up, and as there are about to give me a shot, they smell me(really close to the base of my stand, right where I walked in). They leave... about 45 mins later, I hear something and look over to see a fat doe about 30 yards to my left, walkin straight in. She comes in and offers me a good shot. But as I draw, she heard the arrow sliding on the rest. Stepped off the trail she was on, and stood right behind a tree for a minute. SHe turned and was walkin away, quartering, I release and she does a huge turn in the other direction and I just barely grazed her side. Other than a little fur, there was no sign on my arrow, or anywhere on the ground. She walked off just fine.

I will go out again in the morning, hopefully I'll come home with a deer.

Good name guys. Well work has been crazy, figures it would be this time of the year and the weather absolutely sinks. No luck for me yet but I did get to see a pretty decent buck for our area of NY. I travel to Illinois the first week of November so hopefully I will be able to get a slammer to add to our cause. Anybody else hunting out of their home state???

Alright boys I went this weekend and saw about 40 deer. No bucks worth shooting.....but ..... two does wanted to dance and they did not like the string music I was playin'. Got pics and will post them as soon as possible. Will hopefully be upgrading to a good buck in the next few weeks.

All in all it was a great week-end. I don't have any points to add but I saw lots of critters. Had shots at does and even a couple small bucks. Passed up because either the bucks were to small or the does were with youngins. Friday night I saw 6 different bucks, 4 in range. Also saw, fisher both Saurday and Sunday, porcupines, squirrels, partridge and plenty of turkeys. Oh and I saw two coyotes out of range. I am pretty excited because the last couple of years it has been pretty quiet in my kneck of the woods. I also head that there is a monster 10 point roaming around.

I saw 13 doe/fawn on Friday morning, and then missed a nice 8 point on Sat. morning. After the miss I see a very nice 10point at about 75 yards but he wouldnt come any closer. Scrapes are starting to pop up and a few rubs here and there. Another week and all heck should start breaking loose around here.

I haven't had a chance to get out since this past Saturday. I do have Friday, Sat, and Sun open for hutning though. I have seen many young bucks out in our fields chasing doe the last few days. Hopefully the rain will be done after today for awhile.

Harvested this 10 pointer today. Only going to put down 9 though since one point kinda like a kicker on the right beam was not quite 1 inch. I'll be officially submitting it on Sunday. Going back to SC the rest of the week to fill the freezer on up.

good job justwin, I heard the other day that theres a big buck running around the prop. I'm hunting.I don't know how much hunting I'm gonna get the next week or two. I'll probably have to miss opening day of gun season.As long as our varsity football team keeps winnin, I have to keep goin back for practice on saturdays.

no luck this morning. Tornadoes blew past me about 2 this morning. I didn't fall asleep til after 12, and woke up at 2 because of the storms. I still went out hunting though. The wind was blowing hard from about a 3 o clock angle. I haven't had any deer come from there in a few seasons, but today all 10 deer I saw came from straight downwind from me. Some were spooked, and ran past me. 2 fawns and a do hung around there for a minute or two, but still never offered a shot. I saw 2 little bucks, and a buncha does. All of 'em we out of range though.

Hey guys I've got two more does one with muzzleloader and the other with my rifle. Nothing to upgrade on. I'm going to try to post the pics from my first deer. The rut should kick in within a week for us starting to see a lot of scrapes and hookings.

Good news guys, I got myself a 9 pointer today. It's actually a pretty small deer/rack, but it has 9 points, that'll give us 14 more for the competition. Now the rest of you need to get out and bust some big ones.

Hey guys, I've taken four does off our land so far. I've seen several bucks but nothing to brag about. I have some pics of really nice bucks in the area though. I still need to post the small buck I took with my bow. Sorry I haven't done it yet.
