Hoping to get my PA trip in but it doesn't look good. The last 3 years in PA been very successful. Most of this year will be local hunting with little positive outlook from what I see. Hopefully I can swing the PA hunt again this season http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Hello all, I am here and ready to go. My bow season opens up this Saturday, so I will be out and about. My season ends on Jan 15, good luck to everyone http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Bow starts this Sat. also, But it will be my first season so I'm not sure how it will go.I'll have a Buck and Antlerless tag to fill. And I'm going on a controlled youth hunt end of Oct, with my shotgun so that may work out also.
Any idea's for a name?

I did the same thing Sat evening, had a nice quartering away shot, as soon as I was releasing the arrow, she took a step to the left and I nailed her right rear quarter. Tracked her for 3 hours, ran out of blood, Makes me sick. First one I have ever shot and could not find. Lost some sleep that night. Anyway, been out three times since, and nothing. Like you said, early yet.
I like the name, Stealth Buck Bombers or just buck bombers. I can't think of anything yet. How about just plain old, "Contest Winners". Wade

Ok, The Stealth Buck Bombers sounds good to me also.

Sorry guys, been hectic at work. Nice work on the name, sorry I did not help much with the input. Went out again Monday evening, had five does close, but no good shot. I have one day off in the next 2 1/2 weeks, so not much time in the woods for me. May try and get out in the evening, but it will only give me an hour or so, but that is all that is needed. After that, I will be on vacation for 12 days starting the end of October, so the weather should be good. Anybody have any luck yet? It has been hot here the past couple of days and the mosquitos killed me the last two evenings I went out. Good luck and I will try and check in every evening till vacation. Knock em Dead. Wade

Nope. I missed my annual "Go Home" if you will....to PA for the first week of archery which is always a success. Too much work up in Uncle Sams world right now but I will get home for the last week of rifle season.
As far as archery, it comes in on the 14th up here in Mass so I am looking forward to that. Good luck and hope you have some good weather for your vacation.
Now all we have to do BTTH is put that name to good use http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif THANKS NEED2HUNT http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
I seen a nice young 8 point last Sunday morning, but it was only the 2nd day of season so I passed him up. I watched him for about an hour in front of me and could have shot him several times. I have gotten a nice buck pic for our place and I have mad him my target unless something bigger comes out http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif The weather is going to be cooler this weekend, so maybe the deer will be moving a little better.
Here is a pic of my target right now, but it could change anytime http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I hope I get to be real stealthy and get to go huntin on sat mornin..... who knows if ill have to work that morning or not......I hope I can get off......
I seen the buck in the first picture both this morning and this afternoon. He is running with the buck in the bottom picture and 3 other bucks. This morning they never would come in to the feeder and the closest they got was about 100 yards. This afternoon, they all came to the feeder and the bigger one was eating on the deer block about 20 yards from me, but all his buddies were blocking my shooting lane by standing under the feeder. Then when they were leaving I got drawed back, but never got a shot off, because he wouldn't stop. I was sitting in a popup blind, but tomorrow I am going to move a stand and get it hung in a tree on the trail that they have been coming down off the side of a little hill, so I just hope they continue using the same trail and I think I will get this boy.

Looks like noone bagged a deer yet, huh? Well, still early in the season. Today and tomorrow were my only two days to get out this week, with work and all. They have been having me run the range and working 8 - 5. Well, today I went in early to get home before dark for an hour or so and I found out one of my partners at work was involved in a horrible accident this morning. Needless to say, I spent the whole day at the hospital and will again tomorrow. Hunting is the last thing on my mind now, but it looks positive for him. He will have a long rehab time before he is able to return to work and especially for his time in the woods. Hopefully Stealth Buck Bombers will maybe bag one for me this week, LOL. Tonya, any luck on the big boy in the pic? Good luck to all, and hopefully in the next week, I will make it out. Sunday evening is looking good so far for my next chance to make it out. Good luck team. Wade
No luck with him yet, but maybe I will get him this weekend. Hope your buddy gets better and good luck to you when you go out.
Just looked at the entry thread and it looks like jerseyhunter101 got us on the board with a 6 pointer, congrats http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I just saw how the scorin works. So i shouldnt add another deer unles it has more points then my 6 pointer? Or can i add a doe to? Will this cancel out my buck?
[/ QUOTE ]
Congrats on the 6 pointer http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. The only way you can get more points is to kill a buck with more points. With the 6 you get 11 points, 7 is 12, 8 is 13, etc. Good luck with your next hunts http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Nice job Jersey. Congrats on getting us on the board. Day number 13 will be over tomorrow or today rather. I am looking forward to Sunday for my first time to hunt in about 2 weeks. Also, my first day off in 2 weeks. My buddy is doing better. Has 6 cracked vertebrae in his neck, but should make a full recovery. He is talking, and is really showing his true colors, black and blue, LOL. Needs some work done on his face, cheekbones and all, but all in all, a really lucky guy. Thank GOD. We have a long season here in Iowa plus I have extended doe season the end of Jan for does witha rifle I'm just waiting for the rut Im not at all concerened about my deer I just want to harvest the biggest most mature deer I can. On the 115 acres we hunt we are practicing QDM so nothing to little gets shot. But we are also hunting over 1000 acres for shotgun season and there are no rules there http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.
I already passed on a 120-130 8 point and a 130 10point just cause they werent old enough yet. I don't regret it a bit either.

Hey that is fine i just want to make sure my team is out there hunting when they can.I want to win this contest and im sure you guys do to. So lets get some big boys.
Only get to hunt on the weekends, so it is almost my time again. I could have shot several different bucks, but they are not what we are looking to kill on our place, so I let them walk. The 9 point is still coming around my stand, so I am hoping to get him this weekend, the weather is starting to get cooler so maybe he will start moving more. I have till Jan 16 to use my tags, so I have more than enough time, good luck to everybody http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

My 20 out of 21 day stretch is just about over. I have vacation the next two weeks and will be out in the woods plenty. I am looking for meat early on and am hoping to get that done next week. Have been seeing plenty of deer, just waiting for them to come in a little closer. I will be taking my climber out to get a little closer to them and hopefully one down, four to go. Just checking in. Have not seen anyone post in a couple of days since strut bagged his. Nice job.
I have been going faithfully during my vacation and have been seeing deer each time I have gone out, but they are too far for a shot. I used my climber tonight to get closer to where I have been seeing them, and to my luck, they walked right past my other stand where I have been hunting. If I was in that stand, could of had a nice doe. Oh well, there is always the ifs. Anyway, nothing for me yet, hopefully in the next couple of days. Good luck to team Stealth Buck Bombers. Wade

The rut is really slow here in MO. There are scrapes and a few rubs, the does are still bunched up and the bucks are just now starting to chase. I had two really nice slick heads at 70 yds for most of Saturday morning, I would have took either, and I missed a doe from a new stand, approx 40' in the air, on Sat nite. Could not find the stand I was looking for on Sunday morning. This is a new lease and I am very unfamiliar with the stand locations. But, I did jump a 120 buck, and 4 does while out in the woods. I feel that with rifle season only two weeks away, the contributions will increase. I love bow hunting, got to get in the kitchen for em!
Can some explain the theory behind shooting short from the tree stand, consistently. Pythagoreum therum or something like that?

Went to the hunt yesterday chased around a Nice buck but he wouldn't allow for a shot.
Had a spike standing 25 yards for a few minutes just looking at us, he finally left.
Then a real small Doe Fawn come 10 yards to me, but I just couldn't shoot, it was tiny.
We were getting ready to leave and a Doe crossed the road couple hundred yards ahead, right behind her a Big Bodied Buck followed. Wish I couldv'e gotton a shot.
Then behind our house this morning a Buck was chasing a Doe and her fawns around. Finally seeing bucks.

atleast were all seeing some deer some bucks at that to.....we just gotta get an arrow stuck in umm....
aight on the pythagrum therum......A squared + B squared = C squared......
so you your 15 ft in a tree.....and the deer is at 20 yds....thats 60 ft.......so you have 15 sq. + 60 sq. = C sq.
C = 3825 sq. or 61.84 ft or 20.6 yds so with that being said...
if the deer is at 20 yds and your 15ft in a tree it ends up being 20.6 yds.... so just use your 20 yd pin on him.......
weve being doing the whole pythagrum therum here latly in geometry....guess your end up using this dumb stuff somewheres in life never woulda thought it but youll use it some.......
Still no arrows released from me either, but the day is coming http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Sunday afternoon I should have got a doe, but I let them all walk. I had 8 of 14 deer walk by me within 20 yards and none of them ever new I was there. Still waiting on Mr 9 to make his mistake and give me the shot. Good luck guys on your next hunts http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

15 squared=225
20 squared=400
square root of 625=25
So maybe I need to be adding a half a pin to my shots....that would make sense...I have been putting the arrows about 1-2 yards short.
I will be taking my daughter out this weekend on her first ever endeavor in the woods. I don't care if we get one, I just hope it leaves a good taste in her memory!

The story
Ok now that I have time to tell you guys.... and gals...
Got into the stand about 6:10 and within minutes heard a deer walking just to the south of me but I couldn't make out what it was but I figured it was a buck and I had a pretty good idea which buck it was so I lightly grunted just to keep the deer in the area till I could see which one it was... at about 6:45 I look up and sure enough its our favorite littel fork horned 5 point that we have seen at just about every one of our stands on our property hes a curious thing to a week ago he came into the rattle bag running was real funny to see... so I just watched this little buck hit a scrape on the hill in front of me and wonder off downt he hill...sat there for another hour not seeing a single thing not buck no doe nothing .... very uncharacteristic of this stand usually we have does and yearling all around me.
well about 8:05 I hear deer blow behind me (which is the direction of the wind so I knew he didnt wind me) but I started to grunt to see if I could get him to come my way I figured he was blowing at my buddy who was in the tree stand about 200 yards east of me. Well as I am looking for this deer I look off to my left and out of the SW here comes this big bosied deer trotting/running down the hill directly at me I looked and looked again all I saw was how wide he was I quickly grabbed my bow hoked up the release ... now the deer is about 45 yards from me and still coming at an angle right towards me .... this dude was on a mission... I drew back not knowing what direction he would go wether he would cross in front of me or to the left of me so I quickly found 2 shooting lanes in either direction to shoot.... he went left (the direction I would have prefered) and at 10 yards he walked slightly quartering to me.... I just let him have it the shot was a bit back but it clipped the left lung and exited out behind the rib cage ( yes guts) but I musta hit the spleen or something cause I had instant dark red blood right at the arrow and the arrow was covered with real dark blood.
Well the Traking job was real easy even though the deer ran 250 or so yards he ran right by my buddys stand and crashed on the hill up behind his stand he actually watched him go down .... lucky aye lol ... any the best part of this story is that .... remember the deer that blew behind me ... well that was the deer that Scott shot at and hit a branch and missed it was the other deer that we were sorta hunting it was this real nice dark horned 8 point that has some real nice mass to him... anyhow he hit a branch and missed it .... in a way if he wouldnt have blown at Scott I may not have grunted when I did to try and draw that deer in to me ..... the only thing that coulda made this better for me is if Scott would have gotten his deer to I would much rather have put 2 deer in that 2005 Expedition (LOL yes thats what we drive for a hunting vehicle)
Anyhow that is the story as it went down... For the record Scott saw this deer up on the hill behind him on saturday and he wouldnt respond at all to any kind of calling, grunting, snort/weeze, can anything just mozzied on like nothing was up .... tuesday morning was obviously a different story...
This is by far my largest archery buck to date but with all the bucks we have seen this year I wouldn't say it will be my biggest..... so far this year we have seen way more bucks then we have seen does its about 1:1 ratio maybe actually a tad more bucks then does what a wonderfull area we are fortunate enough to hunt.... I thanks God for giving me the oportunity to hunt and for the land we hunt and I will never take for granted the great things he has allowed me to do and I look forward to passing the hunting tradition onto my kids.....
thanks for all the comments hope you enjoy the story.
Yeah I know I copied it from the bowhunting post but it was easier lol...anyhow hope you enjoy.

Great story! And again congrats!
One of our neighbors called this evening and said they shot a nice 8-point on the property beside us, didn't even know anyone was hunting their. I'm hoping it's not the same one I have been seeing, although I think he might be a 10, he won't give me a good look to confirm it. The way he discribed him though sounds to be it. It sucks in a way...

I have a spot thats ive set 2 or 3 times.....lots of big rubs and a set of BIG ol tracks thats runs in and out of.... and about 1/4 mile away is a road that runs by my house..... and the other day this one guy i know told my grandma about a Big BUCK that ran across the road.....this guy has killd his fair share of BIG deer and he said it is byfar the bigest deer he has ever seen.....so maybe I can get a shot at this guy before he gets ran over or shot off the side of the road.....

Nice deer Bowtech. Congrats on a nice looking deer. I was kinda in awe at you putting that nice deer in a new looking SUV. I have been switched at work to a special assignment, which means Ihave weekends off, for the most part, but now I have to work all week and days to top that off. I have been finding time to get out to the woods, and am going tomorrow morning and all day to deer heaven. That is what I call my buddies hunting ground. Hopefully I can get the right stand this time and bag one. Next weekend is shotgun season for us, so I would like to bag an archery deer before then. We just need points. Some of the other teams are really racking them up. Good luck to all, and Bowtech, nice deer. Wade

Here is how to get the points on the board
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENTERING A DEER
To submit an entry a participant must include in the 05-06 RT Forum Deer Contest - ENTRY thread...
- your screen name
- if applicable, the number of tines that are longer than 1 inch (main beam counts),
- not mandatory but if possible include your team name to help me out.
- a photo of himself/herself with the deer Photo should show at least the entire front half of the deer or more - this is to avoid any possible accusations concerning people entering mounts. Also this pic has to be OF THE DEER, pics of only the skull plate will not be accepted
- photo(s) that all scorable tines can be seen in. If 1 inch tine is questionable supply a photo with a measurement against the tine for verification.
- a photo of legal tag This is a MUST, no deer will be entered without a pic of the tag.
- FOR PARTICIPANTS IN STATES THAT DO NOT HAVE A TAGGING SYESTEM write the following information down on a piece of paper, your forum name, date deer was taken, state deer was taken in, print and sign your name - scan or take a pic of that info and supply it instead of the tag pic

aight now i can finish my story i had to get back to class so i tryed to sum it up....I got to the woods at 2 and had my stand put up and i was settled in by 230 so i set there for a little bit i had put out a scent bomb with a little bit of trails end 307..... i set there for 2 or 3 hours and i had sent a text message to one of my buddys and told him i wished a deer would pop its head out i sure would like to stick another one with my ol tekan 2 just as soon as i hit send i looked over my shoulder and i was like awww crap I seen about an 8 point popin his head on down the trail....he stoped broad side at 30 yds......i so thought it was 25 b/c he was slightly on a litle hill and i squezed off he jumped back about 10 yds and just stoped i was like aww crap......so i got out another arrow just in case he offerd again.....he just walked off......i thought ohh well......a little bit latar I look back over my shoulder to see him going back down basicly the same trail.....but didnt get another shot.......i didnt think to much about it i get down about 15 mins b4 dark so i could find my arrow.......i find it walk back to my tree and low and behold that same buck was chassin a doe down at the bottme of the draw that im hunting......so i packed up and headed to the truck.....(sunday)
went back this evening (tuesday) the wind was blowing so hard....we had a cold front comethrew so i figured i would go set after school......get there at 330 at about 515 i look up and 3 does are walkin down at the bottem of the same draw....... they stayed about 45 or 50 yds away......I really have my mind set on a buck but will harvest another doe if one presents within 20 yds or so....... but yea im real proud of our team.......
is sasksheds going to enter his muley??? if so thatll put us real close to that first place spot.......

I'll score us some points the week after Christmas. Yepper feller and felleretts, I just found out that I am in deed going on leave the week between Christmas and New Years and going back home to PA to hunt the farm. I will catch the late season archery and FLock. This was the down fall to my hunting season so far. Every year, I go home for the 1st week of archery and then go back to fill whatever tags I have left during rifle season. Well due to operational commitments, I couldn't do it this year. So this is good news for me

Here's part of the story, this is where I get him. The full story is in my Journal.

We arrive at our next woods and I walk down to the back side of a timber slashing and wait for my Dad to come through. I find my spot and the waiting game begins again. It’s wasn’t that long actually before I see a buck bound from the slashing, he’s a good one too. I raise my gun and take a shot while he’s still coming partially broadside. He then goes into a walk and stops to my left at 20 yards. He was looking around, wondering what was going on I think. He didn’t see me even as a fumbled to get another slug into the chamber. I had the gun on him again, either a neck shot or a shoulder shot between 2 trees. He wasn’t going to step forward a few steps into the opening so I sent the second shot between the trees. He still stood there! My last slug is in the chamber now and he goes running down through the woods. There’s no place for a shot, so I quickly reload, (a mistake I learned from last year). Here comes my Dad and I step out to where I sent the second bullet and it wasn’t in the trees, but there’s also no blood. My Dad asked if I hit him and I said it looked like he was some what limping as he ran off, but he didn’t act hit when I shot. We followed the way he went and I point to the splatters of blood on the ground. There’s more and more as we go a few feet ahead, then I seen movement, the flick his tail back and forth. He was lying on the ground! He did get up but he wasn’t going anywhere. We were standing over him in the next few minutes and I couldn’t have been happier! He was a nice 8-point, not as big as the other we had seen but still a shooter. Turns out both of my shots hit him. One was behind his shoulder but a little low, liver shot. The other hit square in the shoulder for a lung hit. Course my Dad did have to tease me about shooting between the trees, he asked me if my plan was to bounce the bullet off of them and hope it hit the deer? LoL It just wouldn’t be deer hunting with out this!
As we started dragging him though the work began. We’d go 40feet or so and stop to break, and we had a long way to go to the truck. Field dressing should make him lighter, not a difference though and we had to take him up a hill yet. We finally got him far enough that we pulled the truck down to him, and heaved him into the bed. Later the next day we processed him and he weighed in at 170lbs. My Dad even found part of the bullet in the shoulder so I kept that. He’s being made into trail bologna now, with the exception of the tenderloins.
Thank You Very Much for Reading!

TSBH still has a buck to get when he goes to PA we are actually sitting pretty good atm I have a pretty good fealing about this... but you never know... the way I see it the later in the season the better chance we have .... simply cause of the rut being over.... so when TSBH shoots the 18 point in PA we should be set... ROFL jk TSBH....I still have a doe to shoot but I figure I can get that in shotgun season. As long as everyone has fun with the contest is all that matters to me ... I have had fun watching this and keeping up with it... besides deeing all the great deer.
Well guys, the nine pointer that I was after was shot by some of our neighbors. I went to another set of neighbors cabin last night and he showed me some pics of a couple of different 10 pointers that are running around. There is another 9 point and a 7 point that I am looking for, but haven't had any luck yet. But before Sunday I am going to try for a doe with my bow, so maybe next week we can add at least 5 more points to the board.

Well the trip is still on for that week of late season archery in PA. I just wished I could of went down this fall like I do every year but work commimtments wouldn't allow it this year plus people deciding to have babies during archery season didn't help either (Brother and Sister in-law...where I stay when I hunt the farm). There was no way I was staying there with a newborn. I am done with those days, plus I would have felt awkward. The last 3 years I have shot at least 3 a year on that farm (last year 4) plus the deer I would get on base in NC.
Either or, I have helped this team out none. Excuses and stories don't produce points nor meat on the table. But remember I told you all when this began that this is going to be a bad year for me. I did manage to get out this evening but nothing. I plan on getting out tomorrow if the wind isin't that bad. I can handle wind but they are calling for 30-40 mph. This puppy don't do that! I think we'll have 92 with Sacksheds buck. It's going to be a race for the finish line! lol
Went hunting everyday last week and all I got was a grey fox with my bow. Everyday I had does/yearlings in front of me and I seen a few bucks, but no arrows released on any deer for me yet. Was going to kill a doe, but the bucks are starting to chase so I am going to wait a little longer on the doe. I had a 6 point should be an 8, but he didn't grow any browtines within bow range 3 different times, but never drawed back on him either. My dad said I should stick him so he doesn't pass on his genes, so if I see him again he is going down.

I E-mailed Bwhntr1 when the teams were picked, no answer. So I think we're one short for now anyways... Sucks when people do that. Luck of the draw though.

You are my idol. I have only one buck in the my lifetime so far, and it is the deer from this year. You have two in as many days. That is awesome. Can't wait to see the pics of the newest edition. Way to go. I sent Bwhntr a private message in the beginning, and also, no luck. Nice job Tonya.
Here is the 8 pointer. It was the first time I had seen him this year and at first wasn't going to shoot him, but the longer I watched him the more I liked him. At first it was just him and a couple of does, then when I decided I was going to shoot there was 5 other little bucks and 4 does around. I had to be careful when I shot because there was so many deer around, but finally he went off to the side by himself and I took the shot. He came out at 4pm and I finally got to shoot at 5:10 http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sunday morning I went to another stand and got to see another buck for the first time also this year. This time it was a 10 pointer, he was the first one to show up and it didn't take quite as long to decide if I was going to shoot him or not http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When Kirk originally entered his deer he entered it as a 14 pointer (+5 for 19 points total). I originally only ave him credit for a 13 pointer and asked for a pic with a measurement to confirm the length of the 14th point that was in question, he supplied the photo and I awarded him the extra point which was due him.
I should add that there have been other instances throughout the contest that have been handled the same way, just not as noticable because of the score.

Revert back to my first few original posts, lol http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Not a good year. I was down in PA all last week and didn't hunt a single day, didn't even get my lincense. I was sick most of the time while home too. This has been a bad year with getting time to hunt. Next year should be better for me. I will have the farm to hunt on again and should be able to make it down to PA during the times I always do. This year I was the Toys 4 Tots corrdinator at my unit so my time from September to December 23 was very well managed by the Marine Corps. Unless you have had to deal with the crap I have in the last 4 months, I don't want to hear anything from any of you http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Now as far as me personally goes, It didn't bother me much that I didn't shoot a deer. Heck I shot about 15 deer in the last 3 years between hunting at the farm in PA and hunting on base down in NC. My best hunting years lie ahead with my boys as they are soon reaching the hunting age requirements. So me not taking a deer this year was no biggee except for the fact that I couldn't add to the score board in here but this contest wasn't really my priority if you can understand that.
Congrats to all of you who took deer this year. I still have a bunch of deer meat in the freezer so I am good as far as being hungry goes. I hope you all had a safe and happy New Year and hopefully things will be better for me next year http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

TSBH,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. Hopefully you are feeling better. Everyone around here has been down with the flu, me included, just hit me yesterday. Sore throat and all that good stuff. I am glad you got to go home for the holidays and spend some R & R at home. We appreciate all of you in the military. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Wade

Well I ain't feeling better, that's the thing. I had a cold for a few weeks and about the day that we drove down to PA (the 24th), I began to weeze and cough up some nasty junk. I ended up going to the ER down in Hershey, PA on Christmas night and they listened to my lungs and told me that it was a cold http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I told them I never got this way with a cold before. They gave me and inhaler and some pills and the inhaler works but the pills did nothing. Something is wrong inside of me and I don't like it. I am going back to my doctor up here this week sometime. I pretty much just layed around all last week down home. I am a pretty much a die hard when it comes to hunting elements and I didn't even feel like hunting if that tells you anything.

I noticed the above posts the other day. What a surprise to be in first. Hopefully it lasts. Hunting is officially done here in Illinois. The last day for me was Sunday, the 15th. Iowa is closed except for antlerless hunting till the 29th. we have one week in Iowa where we could shoot antlerless deer with a rifle ... first time in over 50 years we have been able to hunt deer with rifle ... now muzzles shotguns and pistols are ok any time during the season.

I'm going to post this in both Team threads so that it's clear.
Yes hunter109's deer wasn't entered into the contest due to the tag. I've read through their team thread and fail to see where he is getting bashed or taking **** for it.
Also Sasksheds had a buck to enter but I couldn't allow it as it wasn't found until later and I could not tell that it was a fresh kill, which puts them in a similar boat
The rules are there to prevent cheating, I don't think in either of these cases the participants tried to make an entry to cheat to win, both are good members here.
Like I've said to these members, they are not the only ones that I have not allowed an entry from. I don't make it a point to let everyone know those facts, but when you have as many people in this as we do then mistakes are going to happen and rules are rules.
Now that I said all that I'm going to be deleting/editing a few posts on both of these threads, if you've got a problem with that my pm box is open and I'm willing to talk with you about it. I will however not let a few people blow things out of proportion and ruin it for everyone.
Thanks
Gary

Been trying to get out fishing on the warmer days. I have a two local ponds and have been catching a few. Went yote hunting a couple of times, killing only two. Other than that, work has been keeping me busy, along with the weather keeping me inside. Can't wait till the warm weather starts rolling around and staying, at least since hunting is over. Only 13 days left in the tournament, i think. I am guessing everybody is done now since we are the only team left on the page.
