My Pastor made a pretty funny comment last week during church. He was speaking on going to Heaven and he explained that recently Barbara Walters recently did documentary and in it they said the only way to Heaven was thru Baptism. My pastor laughed and said "I wish she would have asked me because I would have shocked the religious world because there are at least 2 ways that I know of. You can either repent, be saved, and baptised..........or be perfect."
Personally I choose the first option.

Yep, and no one...no, not, one, is perfect, accept for the spotless lamb of God (Jesus), who died in our place.

That was exactley his point but he thought it was funny that they never even mentioned that you could get there by being sinless. I thought what he said kind of made the new people feel like they were in the same boat as all the rest of us and it made the ones that think they are going to heaven no matter what realize that we are all really the same.

Repentance is the process of becoming perfect, and no unclean being can enter into God's presence.

The word "repentance" is "to turn away from" ie. God was angry at the Isrealites when they forgot him in the wilderness. The bible says that God repented from his anger.
By your definition God was working toward perfection. How can a perfect being work toward perfection?
He was in fact turning from his anger, not toward perfection.
We can all "turn away from" our sin and work toward perfetion, futile as it may be in our current existance. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

No, there is more than one way to look at what the word REPENT means.

Yes but one definition only holds true in given situations, while mine is true in all situations. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
