I don't know why some of you think it's poor taste. No matter what party you are, you have to think it's funny.

I feel the cartoon is in bad taste because someone who is a fellow hunter had a serious accident. I couldn't care less what political party he belonged to. the fact remains someone got injured while hunting. This forum is made up of hunters who should be glad we have a VP who does hunt. We should be supporting him, not making fun of his bad misfortune.

I agree, but whenever someone in the lime-light makes a boo-boo, you are going to get jokes and cartoons, etc, just pokin fun. The joke above, is actually "AIMED" more at Hilary, than it is Dick ...LOL

Yeah your right LTG but "These" hunters in here are also held accountable when they screw up too. No matter if the VP hunts or not or a fellow hunter or not, he shot some human being because he was sloppy. End of story.

But Buckee is right, I think this is more aimed at Hiliary than anything else...at least that's what I took it for anyway.

I am sure that there has been more than one person on here that has been waiting for my input on this one, I am pretty sure they haven't been holding their breath either.

Is it funny? Yeah, I laughed at it, I've got a sense of humor, but I also do feel that it was in poor taste also. Granted, I have seen worse that's for sure. My biggest thing is regardless of how I feel about any politician is I do not agree with the advocacy of shooting someone because you disagree with them politically.

Now, is this a joke. Most definitely, but there are those out there where this scenario is not a joke for them. This "joke" in some circles can be construed as a threat, albeit a minor one, but when you get into threats regarding Presidents and Senators, well, then it becomes a federal crime. I can remember back during the presidential campaign how someone on here said they would like to get John Kerry in their crosshairs through the scope on the .300 Mag, things like that aren't a joke, and if the proper authorities get wind of it, the person who said it wouldn't be laughing for very long.

I still think the cartoon was in bad taste although I know it was only meant to be funny. I'll admit I did chuckle a little. I guess I really have a problem with people like David Letterman and Jay Leno who just couldn't let it go. If any of you saw their takes on this you would understand what I mean.
I responded to a rescue call last fall where one of my friends was shot by his dad. I still think about this and fail to see any humor in it.
