Opening day was a dud, but the weather is warmer this week and I am hoping to go out Wed-Fri!! Hope to get something for us soon.

Well today was almost as good as it gets without dropping a bird. We had a gobble behind us and a hen on the other side. That hen hi-tailed it to the gobbler and it shut him up for awhile. We came back to that spot around 10am and he answered us. He still had the hen with him, but he strutted around for an Hour and wouldn't come any closer than 75 yards!! It was very cool. Hoping to go back on Friday and try a different set-up on him.

That hen can't keep him company all the time, Friday may be the day.

I'm headed off tomorrow for the Youth season. Seen 8 Jakes in one batch, with 1 Tom. And another held 4 different Gobblers. Got a few in mind. Hopefully it will come together.

Well team i took a big gobbler Thursday but havent had time to post the pictures as of yet.

Wow that is a biggun! Congrats! Had a friend go down to Kentucky and he brought one about the same back, only diff is it had 1 1/4 spurs. If you need help with the pics let me know.

Congrats Boonecricket!! What a great bird. Way to get us started.

I had several close calls but nothing bagged yet. I had four gobblers this Thursday come in silently. They wouldn't gobble so I didn't even know they were there. Walked the corner of a logging trail and there they were. They busted me and I couldn't call them back.

I also went with a friend the day before and he was calling for me, but we busted this hot gobbler off the roost and he was gone. I may try to get him later this week.

Anyone having any luck? I'm hopefully going on Monday morning, but then going to Buff NY to hunt and trout fish for 3 days. Maybe my first bird will come from up there. Good luck all.

No Luck yet. Went to some Public ground today, never even heard a gobble. We went there yesterday also and had some come in, but the big one held back, the rest were jakes. We got out of there though, it sounded like a War Zone! People were shooting 2-3 times and even a forth shot. It was nuts.

sorry team I ve had pc problems on my turkey hunt 3 weeks ago I had 2 hens wreck both my chances but had a great season otherwise next weekend Im going to buy another tag and try 1 more time..

This was gonna be my year to bag my first bird. I knew it. I had so many close chances. Two diff. birds had hens with them and didn't come closer than 70 yards. Got to watch them strut around.

This week on Thursday about killed me though. I blew it and it is on video. It will be great for our show, but I still feel awful about it. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

We happened upon a gobble when approaching a field. Called and got nothing back. After waiting in silence got another gobble. We waited and got nothing. So we snuck through the woods to peak into the field. 6-7 birds were out pretty far feeding and working away from us. I called and boom a big ole fan puffs up. We watch them for awhile and notice two more fans as they walk away. We were trying to figure out were they would go next when a truck pulled onto the farm road and we watched the birds spook to the left. We decided to run through the woods to cut them off at the corner of the field and the river. Climbing through mud and getting stuck up to our knees we finally made it to the field. Sitting for over an hour soft calling we thought they may have gone across the river. We stood up to glass the field when all of a sudden I see a hen coming. We quickly sit down and then the show started. 5 longbeards round the corner following this hen. One goes into strut for us. They were all mature birds and I should have waited for a nice close shot if one came in. Season ended today and I have nothing. This is the close of my third season with no bird. Help me out yall. Well guys I hate to say it but my seasons over. Sorry I couldn't add to the score. This was the first year since I've gotton my first turkey that I haven't tagged one in. Kind of depressing until I think about all that happened during the season. Lots of good times that I may have missed had I tagged out and not hunted everyday. I'll post more details later all.

You got that Right! Wouldn't you know it though, my Dad passes our hunting locations on his way to work and there was 2 big long beards where we waited all morning for last week, then 6 in another field we hunt, don't know what they were though.
