Diaphram Calls?

Hey guys,

How are the turkey hunter's of the world?? Just had a question as to which diaphram calls you guys use and how you like them or dislike them? Just curious, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Really not the greatest with calling, but been using primos calls here.

Mr. Judd from Quaker boy turned me onto some fo those new green lightning mouth calls, i really liek them a lot, good picthc i usually take teh tape off for a smaller fit, but they have a good pitch

Primos Screamin' Green series, called more birds in than any other mouth call with those last year, particularly "Old Boss Hen" and "World Champ."

I love Primos also, my favorite is the True Double.

Hooks Custom Calls are awesome and if you want to spend a lil over 10 bucks per diaphram you can try the Woodhaven, both quality calls.

I love woodhaven custom calls too. I picked up the Red Wasp last month from Cabelas and it sounds sweeeeeet!!

I liked the sounds I was making with a couple of Primos calls, but the turkeys this season have been responding to a Quaker Boy Ole Boss Hen. Not a pro but I am expierenced in hunting turkeys and I can tell you that it really doesn't matter what brand you use, it's how you sound! No call is the "Way to go". The way to go is the call that you can do well and mimic that hen(s) instead of sounding like a screaching falcon when your calling in a bird. My best success usually comes from using a diaphram and a slate at the same time. I usually can get them in quicker sounding like too anxious hens than 1. But remember, it's how good you can make the sound, not the brand. Good luck

This is exactly right ... I have a lot of different Mouth calls they all sound different outa my mouth ... My buddy ahs some of the same ones and they sound totaly different outa his mouth ...

That is very true TreeStandBowHunter....Every call sounds different in every hunter's mouth-its just like talkin...no two people sound exactly the same when they are speaking. Another thing is that people's mouths are shaped differently so one call may fit you great and another bad. But for me personally i really like the Primos Sonic Dome series and my favorite one is the Tripple with a Bat Cut and i also like the Primos A-Frame Diamond Yelper.

While on the subject of diaphram calls.....how the heck do you stop the gag reflect when you put it in the roof of your mouth? I have tried and tried but can't seem to get over the top with these calls. Any advice would be appreciated.
