Robins Nest

I was sitting on the deck today and just enjoying the nice weather, when I noticed this Robin intentley flying to and from my Flowering Crab Tree, for over an hour....

So I figured I would check out was she thought was so interesting.... Well I found out she has a nest in it with these three items in it as well.....

Now I now why she was so avidily checking on things... http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif,, I'm 5'11" and the nest is about my shoulder heigth off the ground so getting a picture was easy,,, but it will be the last for awhile,, I don't want to disturb her anymore than needed.. but I thought is was very cool...

There still nesting here too. Not sure if robins will re-nest if there first chance failed for any reason.

Yeah, I think the nest multiple times a year. They're all over the place out here. I hit a discarded egg with the mower yesterday, and I saw another one in a flower garden just this morning.

I wasn't aware of this.... I even checked out some bird books my folks have, but they didn't go into the nesting end of things....

You have to love the way nature works tho,,,, and watching this nest for the next few weeks should be interesting..... http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I came across a robins nest yesterday as well. But the two chicks in it had already hatched and were sitting in the next with their beaks open and looking up at the sky waiting for momma to drop in some worms. This was at our friends barn.

I saw a baby robin last night. Like always see somthing cool and you dont have as camera.
