Well my tree cams getting worse and worse. I really am thinking hard of forking out some money for a new one. I just brought it back in today and out of the 5 times it actually activated in a week on a heavily used trail I was lucky enough to have two of the pictures activate fast enough to see deer. Remarkably I got this one decent picture.

No intentions to bash here, just curious as to what cam you are using? How high off the ground is it mounted? Digital or 35mm? How old is the cam?

Looks like a pretty decent buck there. Dont know what cam you are using, but if you are looking to buy a new one, you might want to check with KTMMIKE. Think he can get some pretty good deals on leaf river and cuddeback cameras.

Yeah, not wanting to bash it is a stealth cam digital.

Appears that the camera is positioned way to high. It should only be about 3 ft off the ground. It looks like you might have it angled a little too much down the trail also. What may be happening on the pictures you are getting without any deer in it is this: A deer can walk up behind the camera and activete the heat sensor and then that tall grass can blow in the wind and trigger the motion part of the camera, thus setting off the camera.
As far as not taking many pictures it could be the camera itself. I had a Stealth Cam and had some problems with it. I just called the company and they sent me a new one though.

Looks to me like the cam is too high too.
