I purchased a Beretta AL 390 (20 gauge) a few months back. To make a long story short I found the Owner's Manual that came with the gun VERY uninformative, almost confusing. I've been around guns all my life and have a pretty good idea how they work, but I always read the "book" before I operate. The problem this time it didn't help. Some of the features of the gun I found out be accident and even then trying to go back into the book to read more about it I couldn't.

I'm not a genius, but I have a Masters in Engineering, and if I'm having trouble I'd guess I'm not the only one. I'd like to hear what others have to say.

I have not looked at a Beretta manual, so I can not really say how informative they are. I thought you were an A5 kind of guy? Give Beretta a holler, they are just across the creek in MD.

I am an A5 guy and that's probably part of the problem. I'd bought the Beretta (20 gauge) for my son. If I could find an old A5 (20 gauge) I would hav bought it. The Beretta operates quite a bit different than my A5s so in aviation language I'm suffering from negative habit transfer.

Beretta did send me a survey and when I filled it out I expressed my disappointment with the manual. Gun shots great though once I got it on the range. I went 23/25 the first round of trap I shot with it.

Happy Holidays!!
