They are true National Champions. Outside of Ginn running back the opening KO for a TD, it was the All Gator Show. That is why you play the game and don't let the media or fans decide who the champs are. The Buckeyes had a great season, but had nothing tonight. No drive, no heart, no want.

Congrats to the Gators.

Now I see why you Buckeye fans were so adamant in wanting to play Michigan again. You can beat them. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Looks like 1 Chris Weak beats 1 Hypesman trophy winner.

I'm not even a Florida fan, in fact I hate them. Just not as much as I despise the entire Big 10.

Congrats to Florida, they came to play and put on a show, Ohio State just could not get it going.

Don't know why Steven depises the whole big 10, what did they do to you? Remember these are just college kids playing football and give us some of the memorable games in the history of the game.

No matter who is playing, remember these are just 19-22 year olds just playing football and having fun!!

Just wait till next year! http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Dominated. Didn't see this one coming. Florida i my sons favorite college team. Mine is Illinois. Don't think we have any chance for a National Championship anytime in th near future. Congrats to Florida.

I had no idea the Florida defense was that big and fast. I knew their offense would score points but that defense was just awesome. Florida dominated start to finish.

Saw an interesting stat last night, OSU is 0-8 AGAINST the SEC............. So much for the SEC being overrated.

Everyone always underestimate the speed of the SEC. Not only does Florida have the speed, but they have the strength to go with it.
Congrats to the Gators! Way to represent the SEC!!

it just looked like to me that Florida came out ready to play and Ohio state just couldn't get anything going. On every aspect of the football field Florida outplayed--not only physically but mentally. Those florida boys looked stronger, faster, and tougher than Ohio State. I wasn't surprised that Florida won as I actually had picked Florida to win the game--I just didn't think that they would win by that much and totally dominate every aspect of the game.

Now I think the National Championship game should have either been Florida and LSU or Boise State.

GATORBAIT
01-09-2007, 09:23 AM
yea your right but the media and everybody else.(doug flutie) would hate the fact that two sec teams were playing one another and as far as boise state that might be a stretch. maybe usc

I think the near 60-day layoff had a lot to do with that game. That's not the level of play OSU is capable of. No excuse though, Florida came to play and dominated. Hats off...and Urban Meyer completely out coached Tressel.

Two stupid penalties led to great starting field position on Florida's first two pocessions...they capitalized and with their defense playing like them did...the Buckeyes stood no chance.

You can't really say that and mean it. The Buckeyes have been strong all year. They weren't up for this game, and Florida dominated them in every way. But you cannot say that OSU shouldn't have been there in the first place....

Using that theory, it should have been OSU and Boise State. 2 undefeated teams going in to the Championship game. Right? No....

The Buckeyes belonged in that game, they just played like they didn't belong in that game last night. They looked alot like they did against Illinois this year, like maybe they thought it was in the bag before a snap was even made.

Can't take anything away from the Gators though. They looked awesome. They could have rolled any team last night IMO.

speaking of penalties.no holding call opening kickoff. a totally lame roughing the passer call.that was the only thing smith had given to him all night

There was no holding on the opening kickoff. Actually, I can't even think of any part of that play that was borderline holding??

btw- Ginn going down didn't help much either.

There was holding...very obvious holding actually. You didn't even need a replay to see it.

Ohio--no I agree with the two teams that played based on regular season records--I was just stating what two teams played the best in the BCS games. That game was such a blow out that we would have probably seen a better (closer) game if LSU would have been playing. Ohio State deserved to be there based on regular season record and playing. It would have just been nice to see a competitive game for the National Championship. Another reason a playoff is needed. There was nothing competitive about that game last night.

Did OSU have an off night or is Florida just that much better than the best team in the Big 10?

your blinded buddy.reggie nelson might as well been wearing a saddle. the guy was holding his pads like a set of reigns.ginn going down didnt help osu. but that would have been just one more guy florida could have lit up

Must have missed it. That was the only time I was high fivin' my buds...so I wouldn't be surprised. The other 99.9% of the game I sat and watch...except for when I was shaking my head in disbelief. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

btw- can anyone tell me why Tress wasn't running Pittman?? The few plays they actually handed off to him went really well...including an 18-yard TD run and a near 6 YPC average.

Seeing how the intense rush was coming from the outside...you'd think a few draw plays would be in order.

This one's on Tress' head...as was the Texas game last year. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Simple. You don't run the ball when you're playing catch up. The 6 YPC average shows that they were playing catchup and Fla didn't care one bit about the run.
