I know Alex makes some nice pot calls, I was just wondering who else makes them and what do you have for us to see?

You can pay anthing from $20 -$100 for good custom calls, the higher priced calls are usually custom long box calls. But with the higher price you generally get a very nice, super high quality call.

I've made a few. They aren't near as artful as Alex's or 56's. But they sound O.K.

Hey strut10, nothing wrong with your calls, it's the sound that brings them in, not the looks,,as long as they sound good, then you did a good job....andy

Oh......someday I'll invest in a lathe and do the job right. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif At the moment, my methods are pretty archaic.

Thanks,
I always had a hard time picturing exactly how you would turn the pot on the lathe!
Strut 10- doesn;t matter how you made them- you did it yourself by hand. Heck of a lot better than I could do! http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

To me it doesn't matter what a call looks like as much as how it performs. The real ART is the ability to tune the call after it is made.

Kinda my philosophy, since my calls are pretty plain lookin'. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif But, I sure can appreciate the craftsmanship of a call that's well done 360 degrees.

That's more of a boxcall thing. Not a whole lot you can do to a slate or glass once she's glued down other than hand-match strikers.
