well guys I know we have been talkin for a couple years but lets get one goin!! Fist off we were talkin a shed huntign expedition, I am really not sure how many want to bring 10 guys into there honeyholes lol!! I was thinking most of us are bowhunters so what abotu a 3-d shoot? there si a great one in Swift Current in beginning of June,It is one of the best i have been at, there also is one end of June in Kyle community pasture that is run by the local 4-h and would love to ahve a few more attend, I have not been at this shoot but I beliece CLB was there last year he might be able to let us know how it was! There also is a grea tone in Shamrock park south east of swift, its on the wood river and is beutiful country, good peopel and great tiem, all the areas are nice bush covered, free camping, bring a tent, fun shoots, sit by a fire at night and BS and dring=k the odd cool one if you want, a consession is there with cheap food, or bring a little bbq and go at it!!
This will not just be for Sask people anyone welcome, Just hsootign a few ideas out anyone ahve anymore?? Lets get soemthign figured out, Spring is not far away!!

It's hard to organize as it is without throwing in an activity. There's kids involved etc... Might just have to do it in my backyard here in Saskatoon.Come & go type of thing or pitch a tent.If we make it to complicated it wont work.

Well we can just meet in Meadow Lake-golf my private course-'The Cowpie'-my four kids will make sure everyone is entertained whie us adults run amuck lol. Once you come to a northern function you'll be changed for life lol.
We could have it at my place. I have 40 acres, so there's lots of room for tents. Bathroom facilities may be a problem, but there's also a campground 4 miles away. I'm centrally located at Pike Lake just south of Saskatoon. Maybe some guys could round up some 3D targets, and we could set up a 3D shoot. We also have a fire pit and a Bunnock court. I don't really have any honeyholes in the area, so we could do some shed-hunting without me worrying about any of you figuring out my hotspots. Heck, we could have a shed-hunting tournament by planting antlers on my own property and seeing how many everyone can find.

Hey guys, my girlfriend is from Moose Jaw, sask...where is that in proximity to you all? She is on me to plan a trip up to see her folks this spring...I would like to try and work in a combo shed hunt/parental visit....
Are there bucks in that area? How far are any of you serious shed hunting guys from there? Any advice would be great.

birddog we are about 2 hours or so from Moose Jaw here in Saskatoon. The boys from up north will have to travel more than that to get here.I dont know the area that well but there are deer all over Sask. You just have to look for good areas.

Hey birddog, I can tell you where Moose Jaw is, it's located about 6 feet from the Moose A**. Sorry, I couldn't resist treating (?) you to some local Saskatchewan humour.

Ha, Ha, Ha....that is a good one, I'll have to use it on her tonight...anywho, It is set! She flies out in the am to go home for Christmas...I told her that we need to plan a trip back up there in late March/early april...and she was excited! SO, now it is just a matter of planning...and BeerSlayer, I'll say I have discovered those Sask. guys do have an odd sense of humor ;-) Think Sheds and keep ol' Birddog informed....Man, it's bad enough she bought me a shirt that says "Canadian girls kick a$$" now I am checking Canadian forums....the prospects of sheds must be what is keeping me going ;-)
Thanks guys.

You want more Saskatchewan humour? I was in the Coop the other day and this old fellow from Moose Jaw was complaining about everyone making a fuss over same sex marriages. He was saying, "Me and the missus have been having the same sex for 42 years and it hasn't caused any problems for us."

I visited with the g/f about coming up and we thought we would head up over Easter break:
We would leave MN Wed, spend the night in Minot then head north Thurs....That way I would try to hook up with some of you guys on Thurs, Fri or Sat...or all 3 for that matter. Head to MooseJaw on Sunday then back home Monday morning....would this time of year work for any of you? I am serious about trying to plan this....maybe some of the Saskatoon boys could head down, or we could all head up, or whatever....but I would love to get in on a serious shed hunt! I can walk with the best of them....if only I could see the suckers!
That would be end of March (I believe)....is that a good time?

Well guys, as a Christmas gift...the g/f is giving her parents the news we are coming for Easter....I am planning on trying to hook up with anyone I can Thursday afternoon, or Friday (all day) and I will be free Sat. I can try to get us on land around Moose Jaw, or will be anxious to come up and take pics, maybe do some video anywhere else! Then I'll head to Moose Jaw for Easter and head home that night or the following morning.....I am pumped...(great to get away, and make the g/f happy!)
Merry Christmas to you all!
Tony
My wife is away over the Easter Weekend, so I could host a get together on the Friday or Saturday. We could do a group shed hunt somewhere around here, weather permitting. There are lots of areas that aren't exactly honeyholes but have the occasional antler within 0-45 minutes of my place. If anyone from out-of-town wants to stay overnight, I have 2 extra beds and 2 couches and could probably throw a mattress into the office room. I'm sure Saskbucks or Sasksheds could overnight someone in Saskatoon (30 minutes away) if necessary.
If the weather is nice, we could probably do some archery or shoot some clays out on my land. For food, I could probably smoke a turkey for the fellas.
Lets get an idea who is interested.
