Yep, heard this just a while earlier, and knew it would be coming. A shame for sure, they just dont seem to understand. Where they try to go after the veto could be interesting.

A lot of the talk about Iraq seems to remind me of the Vietnam War. Seems like people were saying similar things about it as well. It's really dividing our country and brings up strong emotions.

politicans have been running the military since viet nam, telling the boys what to strike and what not to strike.I have heard many stories from my uncle who was a pilot,he said many targets that were approved weren't even considered of many military importance and many men lost their lives bombing a so called factory when it was nothing more than a abandoned warehouse,he said all of the real targets that needed bombing couldn't be attacked because that many of them had so called Ruskie advisors in the area and the politicans were to afraid of bringing them into the war,To late IMHO.The war in Iraq and Afghanistan is the same way,Lazy, overpaid pencil pushers telling people whose lives are in constant danger what to do and what not to do when they aren't the ones that are being shot at,Makes me sick.I say let's put those Turds in a uniform and see how it is and I guarrantee they would turn tail and wet their pants at the first gunshot.I say let our military do their job who cares about political correctness and what type of image it gives our country let them do their buisness, then bring them home for some time to regroup and spend time with their families, then over a time period someone or some country wants to start some crap let'em have at it.Most Politicans worry about their image and what their friends think of them, not who is risking their lives defending the country they call home. And I would like to say to all those that think it is O.K. to worry about number and think that our country should be a pushover bunch of sissies MAN UP!!!!!I live here to and I ain't no pushover and think every man and woman that is risking their lives over in the sandbox is a **** of a lot more than a american than every stuck up,butt kissin oneway celebrity/politican who doesn't respect them for the job they are doing so if you don't know what is going on there every day and aren't at the risk of being shot,SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!And for all you troops god bless and may you return to your homes and families safe, you have many americans that are behind the scenes that are more to often overlooked that support you and the jobs that you are doing...

What makes this that much more disgusting in my opinion, is that these very same politicians voted to send our service members over there in the first place. Then many of them changed their mind, and jumped ship, becoming traitors at that point in time in my mind as what they have really done is cause more division in this country. Now they are trying to pull the plug completely on a war they once supported either without realizing or just plain not caring about the repercussions that these actions will have.

I couldn't even read the whole thing. Bunch of idiots don't realize what they are doing. I guess they'll find out soon enough though.
All I have to say is it is cowardly, unethical, totally unrealistic, dangerous, stupid, uncaring for your fellow man, selfish, and nuts.;)

I think Sun Tzu in The Art of War said something along the lines of war is the art of deception, keep your actions unknown till they are carried out. With that, why would anyone put in a bill a time line for withdrawl. If it gets past here is what will happen.

The next day all the Al Quida and sectarian fighters will go into hiding and not carry out any attacks. The day the last troops are to leave they will be attacked with high casualties, causing the politicians and media to go into a frenzy. The day after we are gone they will take that part of the world back over.

The house failed to overide the veto. No great surprise there. Reid still seems to maintain that the "will of the American people" is to cut and run. Seems Pelosi is saying essentially the same thing. They just dont get it!

Afraid that is exactly what they are counting on, thankfully we do still have some leaders in this country with a little bit of a backbone.

I have to agree with that. And when they take control back, after the troops are gone, you will see a blood-bath, with no one to defend the victims :(

Then the joyous jihadists, flushed from their recent victory in Iraq, will begin plotting on how best to blow up more American civilians.

Exactly....This may go down in History, as the worst mistake the US ever made, and no one can blame the President for this one. ...but...I'm sure the Liderals will find a way to blame someone other than themselves. That's what they do best...eh;)

Problem is if the liberals get their way, and this is totally just speculation based on my opinions, but I think they will take away our rights to keep our guns, continue to carry on Clintons cuts in our military; and basically leave the jihadists to recover, grow, and train and get in position to hit us hard right here at home with no way to protect ourselves or retaliate.

we actually won the vietnam war, and the cong were ready to surrender with the '68 tet offensive. then, kennedy and others declared we were losing the war, and that gave spirit to our enemy, causing them to unite and go to to accept our surrender and defeat 2 years later. the politicians lost the war for us. it's all nicely recorded in the hanoi war museum, and the cong generals all confirm this. also, hanoi jane (fonda) has a place of honor as a "hero" in this museum.
speaking of jane, her father henry did not talk to her from 1964 until they made "on golden pond" together. she was not allowed in his house. henry flew bombers in ww2, and knew his daughter was a traitor.

Really is sad, I would say that pic probably pretty accurately depicts how our soldiers must feel.

I'm really not sure how to feel at this point. I think keeping the troops there is a must at this point, albeit...it's an unwinnable war. There's a constant stream of insurgents coming in from all over the region, and the tatics they're using are not something our system of conventional warfare can combat and cannot ultimately defeat.

Those people have been waging war and killing each other for thousands of years, the US can't stop it...no one can.

Unfortunately, Rumsfield dropped the ball at the outset of this thing. I read a great book about this recently (the title escapes me, but I can look it up for any who'd like to read it). Schwartzcoff along with other senior military advisors recommended an initial force of 300,000 troops. Rumsfield didn't take their advice and sent 80,000. The plan was setup up to fail.

My hope come November 5th, 2008, there is a similar cartoon with Reid, Pelosi, and Clinton with a big voting ballod sticking out of the back of them!

It really is sad that these people are so bent on destroying the President and regaining power that they will use our military as a pawn. Had they been resolved to help the President win this war, it would probably be over. The terrorists would have stopped sending people to get killed and would have withdrawn to their caves somewhere. Instead, they know they have an ally in the Democrats and to them the best win is that the US looks like it failed. The Democraps are ensuring that.

I hope the Americans wake up and change the power in Washington next year. If Clinton gets in, look for the surrender flag and negotiations with the terrorists.
