Ok guys! This spring season will be coming up soon! I thought maybe all of us could get together and have a good ole time fishing! Maybe have a tourny or something! I would love to know your input! I started this thread now so we have time to get things worked out! Give me you input!

Here is mine! March, go to Mt. Lake Off I-35 Its a really good lake! Huge bass in it! Its a two man boat only lake! Believe me its worth it! If you dont have a boat they have some you can rent! Just my thoughts! What about yours?

huntinsonovagun
12-22-2004, 01:04 PM
Sounds good!! Jeramie also supposedly knows of a good spot to sand bass fish. I might be able to come up with some trout also. Sounds cool though!!

Jeramie
12-22-2004, 02:02 PM
Oh yeah, several sand bass spots. We have often caught 100+ between a few of us. Ryan, its not that far from you so be ready this spring. We camp all spring and summer....

Start to put together a few details and I will see what plans I can put together.

RyanH

12-22-2004, 09:48 PM
Who all has boats??? I sure don't! http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I figured rich-boy doggy does......Ryan, you're pretty well off, you got one??? If not, get one so I can fish out of it. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I want this to happen!! Sounds like fun! Just need a couple boats and we're ready to rock!! (get it.....rock the boat???!!!) (sorry, bad joke. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif)

Gator
12-23-2004, 09:29 AM
I got one, I gaurantee you on't be able to rock this baby much either!!!! Can probably fit the whole crew on it to!! At least 13 of us, or 1500 lbs I think it is! But it ain't very fast.

The_Kat
12-24-2004, 11:29 AM
I got a "real" boat as you call it. Lets go to Konawa the Bass Capitol of the State. I'll pull her anywhere, just name the time and date so I can get it in my schedule. I can fit two others besides my self on my boat. IT's a 16 footer with a 70HP Evinrude, not fast but she works!

RyanH
12-26-2004, 10:42 PM
Man I wish I had a boat! I have wanted to buy one just never went and done it! But I got a 2 man! I love it to! Ill put my Two man in Longmire! But Man I love Mt Lake! But what ever guys! Lets do it! NOT IN TURKEY SEASON! LOL PLEASE! Before or after!

The_Kat
12-27-2004, 12:16 PM
My proposal is we hit Konawa Lake in May

MCH
12-27-2004, 04:14 PM
I got an old Tidecraft 88 horse that'll run 40...which is fast enough for me.

I'll throw out Broken Bow lake....holds the state record for Largemouth....nice lake.

I could get some cheap lodging..I run a website for some cabins up about 1 mile from the lake...Hottub...two story..Sleeps eight with a small cabin next door.

RyanH
12-27-2004, 05:49 PM
Man lets do it! Im ready! I think it will be a blast!

Chrud
12-27-2004, 08:46 PM
You southern folks ain't doing it right! Come all the way up here, eh. Now, you go out on a frozen lake, drill holes and set up tip-ups. You might even want a couple jig poles, ice fishing style, so they are only about 18". I love ice fishing! Now, the best part...bring a football! Nothing beats friends, watching tip-ups, playing a good game of football on a frozen lake. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The_Kat
12-28-2004, 11:24 AM
depending on the rate....I change my vote to MCH's lake!

MCH
12-28-2004, 12:35 PM
Just an idea....if we decide to do this March/April at Broken Bow, we can schedule it on a MCAA 3-d tourney weekend. The 28 target tourney is usually scheduled on a Sunday morning so we could do the fishing tourney all day Saturday....relax that night(there's a honky tonk/dance hall 10 minutes from the cabin http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif).....and get a 3-d tourney in Sunday before leaving. There's also a great golf course 15 minutes from the cabin....BTW the boat ramp is also 15 minutes away.

The_Kat
12-28-2004, 02:44 PM
Thats my vote!

huntinsonovagun
12-28-2004, 02:49 PM

Don't trust Kyle....he'll chicken out. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (I am just kidding w/ you pretty-boy).

Ok...here's the full Broken Bow Lake pitch:

1. We'll stay in two cabins. One has three beds(two stories), a kitchenette, cable tv, a hottub, a backporch equipped with a grill, and the other one is basically an effeciency with only one bed. I figure if needed we could comfortably sleep 12. I can get both cabins for between 10-20 dollars a piece.

2. Broken Bow lake is an average sized lake with a good population of largemouth, smallmouth, and walleye. The Oklahoma state record for Largemouth was landed here. The cabin we could be staying at is only minutes away from a landing.

3. There will be an archery tourney on Sunday that we could hit before leaving. The tournament will be held less than 30 minutes away and usually begins at 9:00 so we could be through by noon.

4. Pure Country dance hall is minutes away for some pool shooting nightly. It is a 21 and over club though.

5. The Big Rock is 30 minutes away in Idabel and it is 18 and over.

6. Hochatown(where Broken Bow Lake is centrally located) has two nice dining places. Abendigo's, one in particular, has top notch food and the prices to prove it... http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Stevens Gap Restaraunt has great food at affordable prices.

That's about it guys. Let's get the choices out there so we can take a group vote.

Me too Gator. My boat drains the gas. Burned 3/4 tank pulling it home from OKC. We need to get a boat count and people count. No since in hauling boats for nothing. I'd rather fish with more people then fish alone in my boat.

It's only three months away. Lets get a count of whose in and out asap so MC can hook us up.

The_Kat
01-15-2005, 10:40 AM
Well as far as I am concerned your place sounds the best. Good lodging-cheap, nice lake, archery tournament, casino, and a club. What more can you ask for. I don't see any reason not to have it at your lake. But we either need to find another lake, or we need a date for yours. Either way we need to get on the ball lol, so I can plan way way in advance and I don't have what happened to me at the Deer Camp happen again.

Eufala (brain fart sp??) is a biggin' but dirty!!

How about trout fishing? Don't have to have a boat, only a few locations available that people would HAVE to agree on. I've heard it's a blast, but never been. Use ultralight rods and powerbait, flies if you want/can. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

MCH
02-19-2005, 08:39 AM
Hate to bring it up again, but Broken Bow boasts some of the best trout fishing in Oklahoma. The record brown trout was caught on Mountain Fork River.(9lbs 12oz)

I've never been myself. So I wouldn't know the best spots to go, but could find out.

I also here that the Illinois up around Ryan is good.

Me and my buddy scott went trout fishing last night....I have to say.....I'M HOOKED!!! Not real big, but let me tell you.....good eatin' fish right there!!!! And fun! We fished w/ ultralight rods and Powerbait and each caught 3 in a couple hours. Could have done better, but I was still trying to figure it out, then I started catching them and we ran out of hooks and it got dark. I say just pick a place and let's go fishing!! I don't care what it is or where it is. Need to do it before turkey season though!

hutchies
02-22-2005, 08:48 AM
If you guys are wanting to fish Texoma you need to wait til the water temp comes up. The crappie are not spawning yet and not many stripers are being caught. The water temp is 48 right now. Wait til it is around 55 and you will tear the crappie up. On the other hand I have been hearing they are catching alot of big cats right now.
