Well, We havent got out to do much turkey hunting this year . We have had a weird season. One day they are gobbling, the next nothing. Most of our turkey hunts have turned into pig hunts. But about a week ago, we decided to try a small place right outside of town. I knew where they usually hung out and strutted, and as soon as we got there, a Big Gobbler answered us almost immediately. I got really excited, but then I realized, this bird was on another property, across a fence, and a DEEP creek. I told Todd, there is no way that turkey is gonna come over here. We waited a minute and tried him again, and he was Closer! I thought that is cool, but he is gonna stop at the fence. About a minute later, and he was across the fence and closing FAST! Then I thought well this is too good to be true and he is gonna hang up on the creek. But just in case we need to get setup. He was probably about 200 yards away. We got setup and I hit the call again. Sure enough this guy has crossed the creek and is only about 75 yards away! I keep calling and then he pops out of the trees strutn and gobblin. We managed to get Great footage of him for about 3 minutes. I will try and get Todd to post some Footage pics for you guys. Anyways I wish they were all this easy! Probably 10 minutes from start to finish. He had an 11 inch beard with a few strands a little longer than that! My best turkey!(So far)
