I mean this in all seriousness.
I recently went to Toronto for the second time in my short life and ever since I've been trying to convince my girlfriend that we should move up there. Unfortunately she doesn't see the beauty in it.
But those huge bucks, Hockey Night In Canada (when they actually play) and a public medical system, and the fishing too, what's not to love.
Less crime, less pollution, stronger beer. Man... do you guys realize you live in paradise??

Yeah man if Toronto trips your trigger wait till you see the rest of Canada-I saw more 'wildlife' on Yonge St. then I ever have in Sask.

Ya, Toronto is far from representative of canada(thank goodness http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ) Just don't get too excited about public healthcare, when you have an aging population suddenly the system can't be supported and the quality of care goes way down http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. But gotta love the wildlife, scenery, and hockey like you said.

I think i woudl rather be in the local garbage dump than toronto, way to many peopel and to many liberals for my liking!! I liek to have to wait for a car once a week at our stopsign, i like to drive in the country and not see a farm for 30 miles, I hate lots of people!!

don't get me wrong, if I could go anywhere it would be Sask, but I'd have to learn how to spell it first, before I'd ever think to vist. I wasn't really praising Toronto, but it is a nice place. Have you guys ever been to Pittsburgh....enough said. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Toronto was just the last place in Canada I've been to. Winsor's a dump, but when I was 19, I was up there at least twice a month.
If I did come out there, I'd teach you canuck boys I few things about hockey (I'm just kidding, so save the comebacks http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif). Hockey and big bucks, my dreamland. Unfortunately Ohio hockey is mediocre, but the deer huntings good.
Oh, I forgot the best part, a Timmy Hortons on every corner and "THE BEER STORE". That is simply the best name for a store I've ever seen. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ohio has Mike Rupp to bragg about, he was a good friend of mine in junior high, and then he went on to score the Stanley Cup winning goal for the Devils a few years back. He was a high draft choice, but never really went on to do much. I think he plays for Phoenix.
Hey muggs glad you like us up here...I would love
to tell you to come to kingston Ont. area,...also I have
not seen to much of this great land of ours BUT..
Hands down the best place I have ever been is
Nove Scotia...best people and lots of stuff to see and
do...did I say they are the best people....Love that
place and can not wait to go back.

There are times when I am taking a walk, when I stop and listen. I can't hear a car, see a highway or a house. No fences, no garbage, no wierd smells, no signs of any other human activity.
THAT is when I am glad I live here. I wouldn't trade peace and the ability of solitude for anything. Then a Ruffed Grouse pops up, I shoot it and the dog gets it! http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have to agree with Palssonator.....all what he said and then some.
I live in the biggest city in our province(pop 800,000), it might take half an hour to drive across it.
I have all the big game hunting I do within a hours drive.
Same goes for waterfowl and upland.
Got the Red River(catfish!!!) 20 minutes away.
90% of the province is public land.
Bear, moose, whitetail, elk, caribou, hogs.
All the ducks and geese you can hunt.
Five types of upland
Turkey
All the varmints you could ever trap or shoot.
This is just a few reasons I like it up here http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have been fishing in Canada before. only to Lake Minaki though. The land is so beautiful. The one thing I thought was intersting was on a long stretch of highway the whole forest was burned like a forest fire maybe. But man I can't wait until my dad takes me way north by FlinFlan, or Saskatoonor Sandy Bay. Great Fishing there.. I just want to see a bear, elk, or moose. But when the sun rises in the morning with fog rising up off the lake, that is the best. And not to mention all the bald eagles! Just some awesome country.

One of the things I enjoy about Alberta, it's size/population ratio. Alberta is very comparable to the size of the state of Texas, but has less that 1/10th of the population of Texas.
There is so much open public land to hunt on, especially up here in Northern Alberta, it would blow your mind.
SaskMan
01-08-2005, 07:58 AM
Like Alberta, Saska is about the same size as Texas, maybe a bit bigger than Texas. We have
less than 1 million people here and so much public ground it'd make most U.S residents ill.
And Saskatoon is not north, it is the central locationof Saskatchewan and our largest city.
If you want to come noth to the forest you'll have to get a few hours north of Saskaoon. When I
sit in my living room and watch the sun rise this morning, I'll see no sign of people, trees, trees,
and more trees, and chances are good that a deer or 2 will scoot across my lawn. I'll likely
also seen one of the foxes that have a den behind my garden. Solitude is something I would
not trade for anything.

Im in the same boat as saskman. Solitude is a very valued part of my life. Theres nothing like seeing deer in your backyard every night. Pretty neat.
