This is a combination of digital art and a pencil drawing. I drew this first then scanned and colored it in photoshop, it won second in the patriotic art contest I made it for. It is of course, a tribute for 9/11

I was talking to Peaches in chat last night and she likes to do art work too. She's a bit shy about showing her work in public, so I'll show it for her....LOL
For those of you who know Peaches in chat, here's a sample of what she likes to do.

This is a hope chest that I built for my wife. It is still waiting for woodburnings of my 2 kids faces on the front of it and then the finish. http://www.hunt101.com/img/113485.jpg
This is a Harley Davidson Rocker that I made for my 2 kids for last Christmas. Except for the walnut frame of the motorcycle and the dowels, the entire motorcycle was built from trees that I cut off my land. I milled up the wood myself. http://www.hunt101.com/img/113488.jpg

This was my very first decorative decoy carving. I actually went outside and picked up a block of wood from the wood-pile to carve this Mallard Drake.
My sister-in-law owns it now and calls it Mona-Mallard. It now has a crack that runs down it's back because it was not a quality piece of wood.

WOW WOW WOW!!!!! That was your first??? What an amazing carving. YOu have amazing talent! What is that colourful bird mounted on your wall???
buckee
03-08-2004, 01:22 AM
Thank you,
That colourful bird I mounted is a Rosella, from Australia. I know a guy who has an aviary, who raises birds for pet stores. Every once in a while he has one bite the biscuit, so I asked him to save me one to mount. They are beautiful birds eh.
Australian Rosella (http://www.anbg.gov.au/birds/crimson-rosella.html)
The screech owl in the corner was found dead under a power box down town by my friend one early morning. I had to run up to Campbell River to get a permit to mount it. I was going to mount some starlings or grackles taking off from the branches in front of the owl, but never got around to it.

Buckee WOW!! I can't tell the difference between the mounts and the carvings!! What kind of wood is the duck carved out of that came from your woodpile?

I've had a few requests to see my art pictures, but since hunt101 had all their problems a few months back, all my pictures don't exist any more on there.
I uploaded them all to Photobucket, but can't put in a direct link to see them all there.
So here goes. I'll post them all again here for anyone who is interested.
CARVINGS
When I first got into carving, I was painting carvings for another carver named Doug Grant.Doug carved this and I painted it
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/buckee/ART/ART%20-%20Carvings/4aaafb37.jpg
The rest are all my own carvings
My very first carving. I actually carved this out of a block of firewood off the wood-pile.
It has a crack down the back now and sits in my brother-in-laws Kitchen
