How are you guys in Sask. doing for snow?
We've got almost knee deep snow in the bush already. It's gonna be a tough one on the deer.

I wish! At home it is around -40 right now....unfortunately here in ottawa it is raining!!! This is brutal. I wish it would turn cold, -50 would be better than rain in January.

calling for +8 here tomorrow. That is just insane! I can't stand haot weather when it should be cold. Not to mention this is ruining the skating, snowmaching and skiing. Oh well, just have to go home and do a lot of that the last week in Feb. on my reading week. Over 3.5 feet of snow at home and lots of ice. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Driving a 88 Diesel jetta in this weather is really not that fun. Sounds like a rattling tin can without heat. Winterfront doesn't even help. Oy....I wanna be a snowbird and fly to Florida for the winter some days.

Sureshot - You've got a SHOVEL to build your with igloo! Wow, talk about the conveniences of the modern age, my family still has to use a musk ox shoulder blade to dig out our igloo. Hey whistlebritches, how do you keep the ice in your curling rink when it's 70 in Louisianna?

Curling is kind of marbles for Eskimo's-now bonspieling there's a sport lol.

Ya, but those are 40 pound marbles! It's hard to describe curling without making it sound pretty lame but you could compare aspects of it to golf in a lot of ways - it's not a fast moving, action sport but one which combines stategy, precision shot making, and a skillful touch. As well, you can play it from age 6 to 90 and still enjoy it. Like golf, it's a sport enjoyed by many, mastered by few. Whenever you "curl" there's always a social aspect to it (drinks with the team after the game) and when you go to a bonspiel (tournament) it's a weekend long party. When the Brier (Canadian Championships) was here in Saskatoon last year the attendance for the week was somewhere in the 150,000 - 200,000 range, and yes, it was a very big party!

Yup curling is great. It is terribly boring to watch, but once you try playing it it is really fun!
