Found this while I was trying to find Mexico prices in reference to the other thread. My question is this...why are prices in Montana and Missouri on average lower than the rest of the U.S.? Maybe someone from those states can clue me in.

Saw something similar on the news earlier today, they were also talking about escalating prices in Indonesia and the effects, they are currently around $2.39 a gallon according to that report.

Saw about a $.35 range in prices over the road while driving just two and a half hours from home yesterday. Paid $3.729 here yesterday morning in middle Tennessee, took $75 to fill up from a quarter tank. That was the lowest price we saw along the way.

Here is another article you might find interesting Marc http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5gTlyAyhKGpX3NL4hsAAnAhpRuJswD910EPH00 . Note that Venezuela gas prices are $.12 a gallon. Germany at $11.49.

no taxes, that's why. only federal. wyoming is the same. we're at 3.45 a gallon today. each state has it's own taxes added.

Current lowest price here in my area is $3.88.9, with some stations at $3.99.9, and if you travel to the tourist trap areas it is well over $4.00. The gas station I use the most makes a measly 3 cents per gallon and the current owners are considering packing it in because of a decrease in sales. They have to sell a lot of gallons just to make enough money to pay their employees, and, other items are not selling as well (even beer sales have dropped!) because people have less money to spend on impulse buying. We have a state tax of 29 cents per gallon on top of the federal tax.

$4.20 plus in some spots here, i drive 35 min to work into PA and pay $3.99.

This is out of hand, someone has the power to limit the prices we pay, congress regulates things all the time they need to regulate wallstreet and stop the free-for-all going on by the rich investors.

Because OF congress regulations the prices are so high.
Congress TELLS the oil companies;
A) where to drill and NOT DRILL for oil
B) what grades of gas to make
C) when they can build new or expand old refineries (30+ years ago was the last time a new refinery was built)

The way to get gas prices down?????

GET CONGRESS OUT OF THE WAY
