Heard a little on this on Fox news earlier today http://iowapoliticalalert.blogspot.com/2008/06/commentary-why-mccain-will-select-sarah.html. Might be interesting to see how this may play out. Anyone ready to make predictions?

I guess McCain is going after the women vote and shes not bad looking either.
I'm seriously hopeful. I think she's an extremely solid choice.

...I agree with you,Leo...-
I'm glad you posted this...-I heard something about it up here a few weeks back...and wasn't sure how valid it was...-
-She is sure an awesome, tough, no-nonsense and down -to-earth governor...
-and we'll be assured to be able to keep our guns!
Watch the video on this site folks. She'll get my vote for sure.

Be still my beating heart....she makes me all drooly and stupid. Not just because she is attractive, but for what she has done in AK. She's not afraid to wipe the floor with anyone who isn't doing what they should be...I love a woman with some bite!
Her approval rating is sitting at around 90% also...That is a shocking number for any governor.

Would agree with you here Leo. From what I have heard recently, McCain has 3 women in consideration, Palin I would agree is probably the best choice.

I was thinking the same thing!!!
Plus with age of McCain she could be the first woman President.

Maybe she should challenge Obama to a game of 1 on 1. :D
She could probably beat him.
Actually, she does fit the criteria I suggested a couple of months ago for McCain's VP choice. Young, executive experience (governor), and solid conservative credentials. The only thing missing is that she's not from a swing state.

Clinton was from Arkansas. Same swing state comments were made of him.
Alaska has lots of oil. Palin wants to help us get it.
She's married to a commercial fisherman, in a state that prides itself on it's game and fish resources.

.Yes..., Leo....-She's not only married to Todd Palin, who is a commercial fisherman (set-net-site quota holder...and his part native family, as well.....)...-but she has fished many years with him...-and she is an avid hunter, and concealed carry permit holder...(Todd Palin has been employed many years , now, by British Petrolium...up on the slope...:);))
...and what do you other guys mean by a "swing state"...
.."Swing Low...Sweet Chariot..."- my ***
... ...:eek::o-NOPE!- Wasn't me...-I PROMISE...:D:);)...-
-in all seriousness here.......:
:o:confused:....-Alaska has and will prove itself by being a force in reckoning...and influence all of its own.... and may very well prove to hold the planting seeds and transcendental gifts of perennial ideals , and gentle truths ...to carry this great nation through the full expanse of what our forefathers origionally intended...
...SARAH....GO GET 'EM!!!!! ......
-We'll sorely miss her as our governor...-but whole -heartedly cheer her on..and know,full-well that she can certainly handle, and rise to the occassion....for anything the US could throw at her....
-The Last Great Race....:);)
PS.....I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, WILLIAM...THAT I OVERLOOKED THAT YOU HAD STARTED THIS THREAD...
-THANKYOU!:)
-AND A BIG THANK YOU TO YOU, TOO, LEO, FOR PM-ING ME ABOUT IT...:)
-I might be gone for a while...looking for a bear-

She does look very interesting.. I would love the choice, picking someone out side the image of the republican party..
Unfortunately I haven't seen her named mentioned nationally..
Hope she gets some consideration.

One other thing Palin has going for her is the fact that Hillary did not get the Democratic nomination. If the Democrats had nominated a woman, the Republicans would instantly get accused of running a woman just to counter that.

In recent history, in presidential races. Governors are extremely strong candidates.
Carter - Former Governor of Georgia
Reagan - Former Governor of California
Clinton - Former Governor of Arkansas
G.W. Bush - Former Governor of Texas
Palin has at least an 84% approval rating as Governor of Alaska. Highest of any Governor in the country. IMO, this makes Palin an incredibly strong choice regardless of gender.
I agree and still expect Democrats to accuse Republicans of playing "me too" games. But I also expect they will have an incredibly difficult time discrediting Palin as a legitimate candidate.

Heard yesterday that Romney is still a strong consideration, also heard to expect for McCain to make his official announcement some time around or after the democratic national convention at the end of August.
