The television is to my back, I had to turn around and look. Obama could not repeat his prompted lines at the very begininning of taking the oath and he stumbled, however he is right on script on his speech.

And people talk about how bad Bush spoke. Wonder if this will turn into a big deal like that

I really don't think it's a big deal, just nervousness. But it will be interesting to see if anyone in the press points it out like they did every time Bush misspoke. My guess is that by tomorrow we will never hear of it again.

Heard on the news on the way home today, that is was actually Chief Justice Roberts that botched the oath. He left out the word "faithfully." Roberts stuck it at the end instead of where it belonged.
When I watched the oath, it looked like Obama forgot the words because Roberts went so fast, but now it doesn't look like that.
Huh.
Now, let's see if any of you believe that. :D

i agree. no big deal. i'm sure nervousness has played a factor. as for the news media, no they will not report it. they will not report any negatives on obama. i think that's good, at least for now. give obama a break in period, and a break in general. bush never got one, and i'm tired of all the negativity. in fact, i'm tired of the news media in general.

I watched it, and at first it looked like Obama messed it up, but then Chief Justice Roberts repeated the line and it was different from what he had said the first time. Even if it was Obama's fault, I completely understand why he would, seeing that it was probably the biggest day in the mans life and he was probably nervous as heck.
Oh and FWIW, he re-took the oath the following day.
