Great picture, SS! Badgers and wolverines have always got my attention. I'd love to have one of each mounted. Good job on the kills. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Cool pics, we don't see very many around here. How much did you get for the big, fuzzy faced one in the middle http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's what I was wondering too ...Bet he didn't get much. The markings on the face are way different than the rest and the hide has lots of rubs on it(right down to bare skin in most parts.) http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As a resident of the "Badger State" I must personally thank you. I have yet to see a badger here other than at the zoo and would be happy not to stumble across one in the woods...lol. I bet you could get more than $50 for them in the US. They're pricy at the sports shows.

(Of course, the state's nickname really is regarding mining...)

Great job on getting those.

I have seen them on several occasions and they can be some nasty devils! They have a personality that is worse than a rattlesnake! http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I ahve called in a few while coyote hunting but usually they just come over a hill and watch to see what is happening! Most of mine are gotten while going to or coming from areas I am calling! Or thsi winter the holes wer eeasy to spot and i would check out the areas with lots of holes on warm days!

I popped one last year while Dove Hunting a stock tank. He wanted my dead doves in the bottom of my seat. Do those things growl? I could have sworn it sounded nasty while charging.. We then placed the sucker in a friends sleeping bag. Funny reaction I must say....

sureshot, How did you get them coyote hunting? Did they come the calls? Or did you just see them?

I saw my first badger about 2 weeks ago. They are very rare in this part of Kansas.

I called in a couple 1 last year I think but most were jsut seen by the black holes on top of the snow and I made a point ot check the areas out every warm day I was in the area, I went out of my way to get them seeing they were worth more than a yote last winter and I just love the pelts! They have the softest fur you ever felt and it is really long, a prime badger has fur on his body up to 4-5" long and just like fluff!!I do not especially like scraping them though LOL, they cannot be scraped, Iuse a really sharp skinning knife and really slowly peel inbetween the fat and skin, and the membrane holding them together is like rawhide!!
