Don't know how much this particular petition will help, but we should all oppose the so called "Fairness Doctrine" on the general principle that it is a clear violation of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution.

Every time I've heard this on the news lately I'm beside myself. If nothing else it is contrary to basic capitalism. Let the market decide what to put on the air, and basically i think it has already.

I signed it as well. I will agree with William, not sure how well petitions do.

The count was over 64K.

Well, if you can believe what he says, Obama opposes reinstating the Fairness Doctrine.

The real question is, if Congress sends him a bill anyway that reinstates it, will the President have the guts to veto it?
