I went out yesterday about 4:30pm. We have 14 acres of land, about half is pasture and half is woods. So far I have gotten 2 rabbits out of our woods and last night I saw 2 more but no shot! The first one ran out from under a small brush pile and when I swung my gun up, it got caughto n a stinking tree branch! The second rabbit, which was a big one, ran out, behind some brauch then came out again and circled half around me. Problem was even though I had a shot, I couldn't shoot unless I wanted to hit a bunch of sumac trees! Oh well, tonight is another chance http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Next time, shoot through the branches. Bunnies aren't too durable. About a month ago I flushed a bunny that ran from my left, across the front of me and then down the fenceline to my right. As I swung on him, I shot once when he was in front of me, then one more time as he was at my right quarter. I thought I missed because of the dense briars and stuff, but it turned out I put one little pellet in his chest cavity, and I found that rabbit 50 yards down the fence line. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

True, doesn't really take too much to take down a bunny. If you've got a shot take it,,, even a couple of pellets will do the job.

yup, i agree with the other guys on this one. it sure doesnt take much to take down a rabbit. as long as a few pellets hit him, there's a good chance of a kill http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
