Guess I'll be first as will our team when the feathers quit flying and the scores are counted. I only know one other member of our team - PA Spike King I am hunting longbeards in Kansas, Missouri and PA yes I am retired so have the time if not the money.

Greetings, I'm a 43 year old police officer from Glen Dale, WV. This is only my second year turkey hunting. I got a nice jake last year and have plenty of turkeys in my woods so hopefully I will hold up my share of the score.
I shoot a winchester 1300, comp-n-choke, winchester HV 1 3/4 oz. #5's.

Welcome to all members of our esteemed team. Eddie that makes three of us using Win 1300s and comp-n-choke tubes. PA Spike King and I use them too. Maybe we should call ourselves the 1300 winners. I am an old geezer at 67 but have over a dozen longbeards to my credit. My daughter and family live in Kansas so I hunt there and this year I plan on hunting a few days in MO with a friend from another forum and back to PA to finish up. We have to come up with a name for our team so put on the thinking caps.
well i am a young 34...7th grade science teacher....i shoot a mosburg 500...how bout the gobbler getters for a name

Andy, I think Pharmacists is a good name....
And don't worry about the show thing as we didn't get there till almost noon and left at around 3:30 as the people and tired legs were getting to us. I do have your # if you would like me to give you a call sometime.
Even though you shoot a moss I guess your in. LOL

I'll throw these out: Turkey trekkers, Beard Busters, Beard collectors, spur collectors. I'll try to think of somemore.

With all our armament we could call ourselves the Mossy 1300s. How about the snood snippers, big beak busters, longbeard landers, spur smackers. Oh I don't care what we call ourselves. I was once on an archery team that never did come up with a name so I told the range owner call us anything and he called us the Anythings.

My fellow team mates that are shooting a Winchester 1300, what shells are your shooting I patterned mine last year with Winchester HV 3" 1 3'4 oz #6. I'm worried that if I misjudge my yardage by 5 or 10 yards that the #6 shot won't be effective?

try the federal flight control 5s, i love them. Patterned the other day at 40 yards and had over 25 kill pellets each time i shot.
Also getting ready for my trip to Nebraska next week, looking to score on 2 big merriams!

First off sorry I haven't been around much, I'm here and doing a little scouting and doing some long range glassing so we have some turkeys located and just waiting on the season (April 25th).
Eddie,PA Ridge Runner and I use the Win XX mag in 1 7/8th's 0z loads. I have used the supreme's in 1 3/4 oz and 2oz have killed turkeys also. I just don't shoot farther than 40 yards and #6 shot is all we have used so just limit your yardage. Hope that helps a little.

Congrats,
I've been out four of my six days off. Last Wednesday morning I was in the woods and set up by 5am. As first light broke I let out with a soft yelp. there was a gobble right behind me so I didn't do a thing for about a half an hour or so and called again. nothing I figured he moved on so I started calling every ten minutes or so till about 8:30. I needed to stand and stretch. The stupid turkey was roosted in the tree I was leaning against and when I stood up he flew off down the hill. Looked to be a Jake.
I'll have to wait till my next days off to get back out.
