HOWDY! Glad to be a part of the team! I'll be hunting 200 acres of private land from April 20th through the 25th. I will be using a bow unless the last day I'm empty handed then I'm taking the gun.
Team Name suggestions - I like those above as well:
-Shocked Gobblers
-Hob-Gobblers
I'll keep thinking...

Noone checking in here?
Team name - I vote for "Gobble Grounders."
Not sure if anyone here is looking for a blind to hunt out of or not but Gander Mountain has the Primo's Eclipse for $120. My old blind worked great for gun hunting but wasn't going to be wide enough for bow so I picked up this blind. I think the material is slightly heavier than other blinds. It doesn't have the vision coverage of, say the Ameristep 360, but good coverage. I also picked up a decent swivel stool (also at Gander)that puts me right at the perfect level for the windows. Here's a link to peruse the Eclipse...Primo's Eclipse Hub Blind (https://shop.primos.com/pc-1145-136-the-eclipse.aspx) Now I just need to get some more practice in. I couldn't wait so I set up my target in my basement and made a few shots from about 8 yards - LOL!!

Ouch Bach! I'm sure you will be cocked locked and ready to rock by season! And thats good news, I've also been having reports of turkeys where I'm hunting, a few weeks ago A guy saw about 70 turkeys in a massive field about 200 yards from where I'm hunting! Even better, I hunt the only patch of woods for a long ways around, I wonder where their roosting...? lol

Man, I was getting excited... but it is actually 4 weeks until our season start here! LOL April 20th here we come!!
Had a blast yesterday -went to the 3D range. First time I've ever done that. They only had 2 turkey targets but I would have dropped the bird both times from about 25 yards.

Congrats on the bird!!
I've ended up empty handed. My apologies guys! In the end the responsiblity is all mine but we also faced some very wet and cold weather. Monday, rained ALL day and the high was 38. I was soaked in my blind and a 9am decided to hang it up. Took a quick look out the windows and stepped out to find I had birds at 40 yards. I was hunting with a bow so getting a shot off as they ran was a no go. Never saw another bird. Heard and worked a couple but they just didn't come in. Had a good time and learned a tough lesson. I'll be all the better for next year!

Tom down! 8 1/4 inch beard, 3/4 inch spurs, 21.2 lbs. I'm having trouble uploading pics, it keeps saying I'm exceeding the file limit, I guess my pictures when I "actualy size" them are massive, any tips on how to solve this?

I'm still trying to tag another to upgrade but they are really call shy so it's been tough. They are still gobbling a bit but slowing down. I'm gonna give it another shot this weekend, I have till the 31st.

Are we even allowed to upgrade this year? It says in the rules we have to submit our first bird taken or something? I hope we are still allowed!

Well..... I'm done with the season and birdless yet again. They never really did get into any type of pattern as far as breeding, the weather was so jacked up here it made it hard. Didn't even see any turkeys the last month or so. Kinda unusual for my part of the world, even with planting and all, still not that many birds out and about. Sorry guys, wish I could have put a bruiser on the board, we would have been right there in the running then...... KS

Oh well KS you can't win them all, tough luck for ya but maybe next year.:D
