I take: cell phone, extra socks, compass, binocs, matches or lighter,Toilet paper, water, granola bars,apple,chocolate,2way radios(if in a group),rope to tie sheds together & carry.Last but not the least that I can think of @ the moment.I try to take alot of LUCK!!!Anybody have any more ideas?

LDB has a great idea to take some duct tape just in case you're carrying a few...I got a fanny pack from Mountain Equipment Co-op from him as a Christmas gift as well, it is the cat's meow, room for a couple water bottles on the side, here is the link to it

I love the boots I hike in, they are Salomon X ADVANTAGE 7 hikers...here is a link for them, or I guess the closest thing they make now

I also wear a pair of gortex gaiters so I don't get snow down my boots and they are also good for rubbing up against branches in the bush
Does anyone use those upland pants with the fronts made of heavy material?

Well I usually give my mom the where abouts of where I'm going but I know about every inch of the land so I have no problem. If iti s small game season like it is now, I take my shotgun but usually I'll take my knife, first aid kit, a backpack with some water and a snack in it, a camera, a hiking stick(or a ski pole works great, lol) and sometimes one of our dogs for company.

I always carry my backpack with first aid kit,all the goodies I would need to survive a night like waterproof matches snare wire, knife, emrgency thermal blanket[small kind], rope, all fits in one small pocket in backpack, I bring soem chocolot bars for energy,1 bottle of water and usually 2 pop, binos and string for tieing the antlers that will not fit in the backpack! bout all i can think of now!

Saskbucks I forgot the BRIGHTS!For anybody that doesnt know, they are sunglasses with orange ish lenses. They help with the sun but also help certain other colours stand out.Kind of like what some ski goggles look like when you look through them.On drury days they can make an antler stand out of that long grass.Dang there goes our secret.

That's a pretty good list.
I usually take my cell phone, some water and a snack.
