Hey NY...how are the bird??

Haven't been out since last Friday! Going to try to get out again, hit the state land maybe...was wondering if they are still gobbling or have quieted down a bit...henned up still...or just what's going on?

Might get up and go over to the state land in the morning, sit up on a ridge and see...or hear

I hope theyre not slowing down with the gobbling. I'm going to hit it hard this weekend. My original plan was to go up to the property last night and hunt there through Tuesday but then I got stuck working yesterday and this afternoon. So tomorrow morning, me and a buddy of mine are going to hit his spot in Orange County hard. We'll also be filming for HCO. Then I'm gonna shoot up to my property Saturday afternoon and hunt there through Monday. We still have one weekend left after this one but I think I'm gonna go all out this weekend because I have 3 days. :)

I've been out since the second day of NY's season with my bow. I've only hunted a little each weekend. The weather has been rainy and/or windy, but regardless things seem to be getting real quiet. This past week I haven't gotten anything to gobble. I've already bagged a good one with my Benelli, but I haven't given up yet.

They're not through yet!!! I probably heard more gobbling this morning than I have on any single hunt in my turkey hunting career. I was surrounded by gobblers...probably 10-12 different birds (at least two were longbeards for sure and a bunch of jakes). Could have shot a jake but the big boys went out in the field. They gobbled nonstop for two hours without me even touching a call. Man, were they hot!!! Believe it or not, I didn't even mess with them either so that me and my dad can go back up in the morning and he can hopefully get a crack at one of the longbeards. We've been after these birds all season but they've been henned up bad. With all the jakes around, it should be an awesome season next year!

After taking my #2 bird on tuesday morning, on the way home I spotted a strutting bird with 4 hens out in a field. I personally feel that it should be getting better right till the close of the season!!!

A couple more NY boss gobblers hit the ground this morning.

Here's a monster that a buddy of mine from work killed...23#, double beards @ 10.5" and 9.5", 1 1/2" and 1 9/16" spurs!!!:eek:

I've never seen such a run down bird in my life...all of his breast feather were missing from breeding hens and his breast sponge was completely used up. Only 16.5#, 7/8" spurs, but he had a sweet 11" rope.
