Maddox will be the starter again in a few more weeks, once his elbow is healed. Big Ben is doing a great job though.

Big Ben 3-0. He pounded the Clowns and I loved every minute of it. He really showed his toughness too. Great pocket skills and he can move. Loved his deep throws to Plax after being flushed from the pocket. He made those throws on the move and they were as accurate as any other.

One thing I'm sick of hearing is the excuse "well Cory Dillon wasn't playing".....sorry but the Pats won the first 14 games of the streak without him and only 7 with him.......He had no bearing on the WHOOPING the pats got.

Roethlisberger is 19 - 0 in his last 19 starts going back to his senior year at Miami (Ohio).......This guy is just what the Steelers needed.

Second, I'll admit Porter was a moron for getting in a situation like that...but if I recall correctly there was also a Cleveland Brownie throwing punches too (even though none of them landed). Thirdly, not only are the Steelers the best team in the league, but that "fat old running back" ran for over 100 yards (for the second straight week) against the brownies and is second in the NFL in TD's.....and he's not even the starter. The first time anybody plays a new quarterback, they don't know what to expect. They'll all figure him out soon enough. I think you guys are close, but I just don't think you'll be able to win it with a rookie QB.

I agree on that one for sure. That's really the biggest difference with the Steelers this year. Cleveland doesnt look like they have squat for an o-line. What is so frustrating about the o-line situation, is that it's been horrible since the team came back and they refuse to do anything about it.

As a matter of fact, the organization hasn't done anything that made since that I can remember. Even when we draft a potential superstar (Winslow) they use him on special teams and he gets knocked out for the season.

I agree with your O-line statements. Ours has turned a complete 180 from last year and it's been the big difference for the offence. The return of the "Blitzburg" defense has been the boost the whole team needed over all.

The Steelers have the talent and ability to knock out any team in football right now, and if they continue to play like they have been they will continue to plow through the opposition.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was named The Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year on Wednesday.

Roethlisberger was a unanimous selection, receiving all 48 votes from a nationwide panel of pro football writers and broadcasters.

Roethlisberger was honored by the award, but right now the playoffs and not personal honors are number one in his mind.

. “It’s an honor. We should put the whole team on it," said Roethlisberger. "Those guys are the real reason I can accept this award. It's nice to accept today, but it's thank you and time to move on.

"Maybe after the season I’ll look back on it and say, wow, that was quite an award. But right now that’s not what this season is about, that’s not what I’ve been striving for and this team has been striving for."

Roethlisberger has won all 13 of his NFL starts. He finished fifth in passer rating at 98.1 in the NFL. He completed 196 of 295 passes for 2,621 yards, with 17 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also carried the ball 56 times for 144 yards and a touchdown.

“Everything that has happened this season has been so special,” said Roethlisberger. “It’s almost a dream come true. I don’t want to wake up, I know that much.”

Roethlisberger set NFL rookie and overall Steelers records with his 66.4 completion percentage and passer rating.

"I think it’s great," said head coach Bill Cowher of the honor. "When you look at what he’s done and the way he came in and handled everything, it was a no-brainer. It was a well deserved recognition too.”

Next week he starts the next chapter of his rookie career as he will start in his first NFL playoff game.

“Our attitude this year has been one game at a time,” said Roethlisberger. “It’s the first game of the playoffs, that’s our attitude. Everybody’s goal is to get to the Super Bowl, so if we don’t get there we will be disappointed. But we have to take it one game at a time.”

Roethlisberger is the fourth Steelers rookie to win the award, joining receivers Louis Lipps (1984) and Jimmy Orr (1958) and running back Franco Harris (1972).

I will say though, there was about 6-8 Jets fans around us, yes, they celabrated when their team was winning. But all the Steelers fans around me did not even say one word towards them. Everybody was cool! The one Jets fan even told me he was glad to show up at Pittsburgh, because even he said it a nice place to see a game without getting harrassed. I shook his hand and said nice GOOD GAME! At the end of the game on the way out, a very drunk Jets fan fell, I walked over to see if he was ok. He was, but when he fell he tripped out of both of his sneakers!?!?!? Anyways, I helped him get his shoes and went off on my way, so did he.

All in all, we had a great time! But as I said before, ITS JUST A GAME! Win or lose (just a plus if its WIN!!!), it only a game!

I wonder how long it would take the Steelers to rebuild if Rooney decided to hijack the team to another city. Of course Rooney's a class act and wouldn't do that, but how long?

This joke of a franchise isn't the Browns. Its the "New Browns" and even after years of mismanagement and getting screwed by the league...they still have the same record as the defending Super Bowl Champs...and I love it.

The difference being of course, that the Steelers are the defending Super Bowl Champions and the Browns are not, and have never been.

Like I said John, the Brown's franchise was one of the most storied franchises in all of football. That franchise died in 1994 though. Even still, they're still #3 all time in championships...that's impressive enough. Sure, it wasn't called the Super Bowl back then, and Janet Jackson didn't show body parts at halftime amid all the other hype.

If I remember correctly, a few short years before Modell shipped them out of town they were pretty much a perrenial playoff team, especially in the 80's when the Stillers were nothing.

All I know is the Stillers need 3 more to match the Browns (not the neo Browns) and they'll need 3 after this season too.
