does anyone have one of these and if so, how easy are they to screw into the tree?

Not hard at all. Im in love with mine. I think i have like 4 of them. They are awesome. I wont go to the woods with out one. You can get pretty good leverage when screwing them in. Not hard at all!

I have two long arm (2 arms) and a short one. They aren't bad, but a little difficult in hardwoods. What I do is take one of the thousands of gear hooks I have and use that as a pre-drilled hole. It screws in REAL easy then.

I have one made by GORILLA, and love it!!! It is real easy to get started in a tree also

Do you leave it out in the tree or do you pack it in and out?

I look at it in two ways. I take mine in and out each time. Now, if you use a hardwood tree, the bolt may become loose and need to be tightened. If you leave it in all the time, it can weather and rust. At least my brother's immitation hanger did.

My brother has one of these, and has no problem screwing it into trees. i bought a "no-name" hanger. It looks identical, but the threads are a different design. I can't screw it into a tree to save my life, I also "pre-drill" with an equiptment hook.

VERY easy!! I just tried mine for the first time yesterday and they are 10 times easier than a screw in step to put in the tree. The lag seems to bite in all on its own!! Definitely worth the money!!

How do you guys do it!??! I tried screwing mine into a tree the other day and barely got like an inch into the tree. I've never been good at doing that stuff though. It was a hardwood though. I didnt have much luck anyways... was prettty mad.

Sam, I screwed mine into a beech tree! They are pretty hard. Are yours the Realtree ones or a knockoff? Maybe does not have a self starting lag like the realtree one does. I usually give it a bit of a "jam" into the tree to create kind of a pilot hole, then hold pressure against the tree while screwing it in. If ya ever screw it into a pine tree, you'll get all kinds of sap all over it and never get it off without cleaning it with a pitch remover.

They are pretty easy to screw into a tree. I have the longer 2-arm version and primarily use it for archery season. The only complaint I have is they're relatively heavy for their size.

I've got two of them, the long one and the short one.

I love them. I primarily use the short one, only because the long one is too big to fit in any pockets of my Primos vest, or jackets.

They screw in super easy. Yea, hardwoods can be tougher, but most trees are very easy. I extend mine out straight, then stab it hard into the tree and start turning. After it gets a good bite into the tree, I turn the arm 90 degrees and use it as a leverage arm to screw the hanger easily all the way into the tree.

I'd recommend buying the actual Realtree ones, instead of the knock offs. The most important part is the thread design. The knock offs just don't have the agressive design that the Realtree ones have.

I have three of them. They are great and go into the tree pretty easy.

I have a RT one and love it and I just bought a Grilla one. Forget the Gorilla. Has a blunt lag which makes starting nearly impossible and one of the 3 utility hooks snapped off as soon as I hung my binocs.

I give mine a good smack into the bark to get it started....screws in just fine for me. Only complaint I have with mine is the bolt broke while unscrewing it one night. I replaced the bolt and washers and still works fine, just wasn't that old when it broke.

they're pretty easy actually, especially into trees like ash and maple. red oak is a little tough to get into.

Do any of you guys have a 3-arm EZ Hanger? How do you like it. I'm thinking of getting one of them too.

If you guys want an absolute must product for easy installation of your EZ Hanger, check out this hand auger by Buckwing. One good jab into any hardwood tree and a few screws and your good to go! I used it for the first time in a hard maple last night and it worked like a charm.

I couldn't find it on Buckwing's website, but I got mine from Your American Backyard (http://www.amback.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=53920).

actually i have three of them and i like how they work at hanging things up while your int he tree or if your ont he ground and don't want to have to deal with the stuff aroudnyou and it also makes a great gun rest when hunting from a treestand. and will work if you set up your blind next to a tree and you can screw it into the tree and then straighten it out and use it for a rifle rest as well. has worked for me on several occassions

I had one, left it in a tree and can't go back to get it. Need to get another one. Never tried in a hardwood, actually, I tried it with a Gorilla and never got it in, I fould with a Pine the easiest thing was to jam it in the bark like you are stabbing someone in the eye, just think of someone you hate and that should make it easier. http://www.realtree.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This wouldn't work for me cause I'd be cutting all my Kerry, Clinton, Finestein, Brady, Kendy trees down and then all I'd have is a field to hunt in.

I know what you mean Ryan! I have to tighten the bolt after using it a couple times in a red oak.
