Well, not exactly. The ISP's may be 85 miles apart, but I don't think you can tell what the physical location of the computer is. Also, IP's can be easily spoofed. Check mine out sometime. I've posted from several different systems here at work (including at least one that is 150 miles away from my main office), but you'll only see 1 IP address as the originator.

Yes and no...it isn't like GPS, but you can get a pretty good idea.

My IP address puts me right in the very far northwestern corner of the city of Milwaukee....which is exactly where I am. In fact, the plotting tool I used puts me right next to a main street in this part of the city--and I'm less than 1 block away.

The originator address you see is likely the IP address you were on when you registered or the IP address of you last login point...don't think a site like this would need to record any more information than that.

You're right though...it's not perfect because IP addresses are nearly infinite, but unless someone owns their own network vs. going through an ISP, chances are the tool I used will be pretty accurate.

The two who seem to be taking up for each other here are both using the same poor grammar and the same use of poor spelling. While I am not a genius, I am not a fool either. It would really surprise me if this was NOT the same person. I admit I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
