a Remington pump action 30-06 with 180 grain remington core locts for moose and deer gun season. A Jennings buckmaster at 72 pounds with 100 grain thunderheads and carbon arrows for archer moose, deer, and bear.
Remington 700 30/06 and a Hoyt Dynatec.![]()
BAR Win. 300 Mag.
I think you'll like the 300 WSM. For me I use 30/06 Model 700 LH-----scope is a Leupold VarX-III 2.5 X 8. I've been using this setup for 35 years. Never a problem on elk, deer, bear & hopefully a Shira's soon. I use 180 grain bullets for everything.
One word of advice is use a good bullet out of that 300 WSM---at those higher speeds a standard bullet may leave a little to be desired.
Archery - Browning Apparition set at 86 pounds shooting Easton XX75 2514s at 31 inches topped with 100 grain Muzzy 3 blade heads
Rifle - Weatherby Fibermark shooting Weatherby .300 mag. bullets with 180 grain Nosler Partitions
It depends on what and where I will be hunting. I match the gun/ammo combination to the task at hand. I am fortunate enough to have a decent selection to choose from.
