Huge black bears

Actually if you look at #'s pensylvania has the heaviest bears by far. Each year they have some from 600 to nearly 850 pounds. If you look at the number harvested, the proportion of true brutes in pensylcania is astonishing. By skull size northern Manitoba, alberta, sask. and Coastal areas of alaska and BC take the prize.

I believe the heaviest black bear on record comes from New Brunswick Canada.900+.lbs,dressed i believe.As for high numbers of really large black bears i have heard that Pennsylvania,Michigan,NC,Wisconsin all take large bears yearly.But i can just imagine some of the huge bears that have been shot and not weighed or really spoken of after the hunter gets it home.I'm sure there are many over 600-700.lbs.Thats HUGE!!!

i was looking around for the black bear weights and seems that 880 is the offical record weight.I'll keep looking for that NB bear and if i can find it i'll post it up.

Here is a big bear from Nova Scotia.This fella went over 500.lbs dressed and was just under 7 feet from nose to tail.A friend of mines uncle got it and he sent me some pics.Man i couldn't imagine what a 700 pound bear would look like.HUGE!!!!
