Saw a bear out feeding in a corn field yesterday. This is highly unusual for Northern WI. in FEB!! Of course so was the 54 degree temps we were having!

I wondered if they'd be coming out early. It's been real warm here too!
yup, it seems a few warm days will bering them out for a bit. Last year ice fishing it was -20 in Feb. and we saw one walking the lakeshore. I suspect something must have found its den and scared it out though.
yeah that sure is early. but like the rest of ya's, i sure can believe it, the temps have been in the 40s here. In Canada... In February?![]()

Alot of bears do come out of there den in the winter to feed. It is common.
Like JimT said, your males will not totally den up in the winter. They will actually come out if you get a few warmer days in a row to feed.
